Location description from owner

The Tuscany region

Lucca is located between Florence and Pisa, near mountains and the sea. An ideal homebase for exploring Tuscany, daytrips to Sienna and Cortona by car and Vesilia, Florence and Pisa by train or bus. Rich history: Etruscans, Romans and the Renaissance. Napoleon gave his sister Elisa the city as a present in 1805 and she built a treelined boulevard atop the Renaissance Walls which are wonderful for strolls, biking, jogging or picnics.

Shopping is excellent for local artisan jewellery and ceramics as well as name brand shops and boutiques. Traditional Tuscan cuisine, simple, elegant and delicious for every budget! Visit the wine road or villas in the surrounding hills. Lucca Summer Festival features pop and rock music in July, year-round classical concerts in San Giovanni and during September the festival of Volto Santo and Santa Croce are interesting for the processions and candle-lit buildings.

Winter in Lucca is temperate and rainy. Spring and Autumn are mild. Summer is hot. Christmas and Easter are festive with markets and local wares. The antique market is every third weekend of the month. Every Saturday and Wednesday morning there is a market along the Walls.

“Perfect apartment”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2015

Everything you could want in a holiday apartment has been thoughtfully provided and to a very high standard. It's very comfortable, clean and a delightful place to stay, as we did, for over a week. We loved the sounds of the city in the evening and the convenience to the shops and sights. The apartment has lots of natural light, space and privacy. All you have to do is relax and plan your next day of sightseeing. Paolo is a very helpful and friendly host. You should know that it's on the third floor and there isn't an elevator. We would definitely go back there and highly recommend it.

“Immaculate apartment, gracious host, perfect location.”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2015

Paolo met my daughter and I at the train station, accompanied us to his apartment, and welcomed us with flowers and Tuscan food/wine. He took time to orient us to the apartment and Lucca and made us feel very comfortable with our surroundings. The apartment was centrally located inside the walls, had all of the amenities we could ask for, and was immaculate in cleanliness. Having A/C was a big perk as was having a washing machine. Lots of stairs to climb but the ascent was worth it!

“Amazing apartment...loved it...will be going back and telling all our friends!”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2012

We stayed in this apartment on our recent trip to Italy...I don't have enough words for this place. It's perfect! We stayed in Rome and Florence along with Lucca...within 2 hours of being in Lucca, both my husband and 82 yr old mother had decided we should of just stayed here the entire time! The apartment is centrally located inside the walls of Lucca. The is a grocer, farmacia, and tons of restaurants and beautiful shops all around you. The apartment is beautifully remodeld and so very very comfortable. Oh and did I say that we were met by Paolo who was so gracious and accomodating and he had brought us "treats" and a bottle of local wine for our arrival...very nice. Thank you Paolo...we will be back and already have told some friends here at home that they need to stay with you too!

“Excellent apartment in great location”

Reviewed 11 Dec 2011

We stayed in September 2011 and had a fabulous time. The apartment exceeded our expectations, in both the standard of accommodation and location. Paolo the owner was extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The provision of wine and snacks from a local shop for when we arrived was a really nice touch. We highly recommend the apartment, and hope to return soon.

I thank you for your wonderful compliments and of course will be my pleasure to have you again as guests thank you again Paolo
