This medieval house is situated on the banks of the river Orbieu in beautiful and listed village Lagrasse.
It provides not only an ideal base to explore this rich and historic region but also acts as a destination in itself. THE INDEPENDANT RENTAL APARTMENT/GITE has a magnificent terrace which overlooks the iconic medieval stone bridge and the hills across the river. It provides the ideal space to spend your days and evenings. Watch the sun setting over the hills opposite while you have drinks and dinner cooked on the BBQ.
The internal courtyard always stays cool and shady, even on the hottest summer days. Step out of the back of the house and go for a paddle in the river or from the front door to find yourself in the heart of this special village. Parts of the house date back to medieval days. The cool colors of the ancient stone walls combine with the thoughtful renovation to create a very calm and relaxing atmosphere.
The apartment is on the first floor with further steps up to the terrace. If you have any concerns about accessibility due to the mobility of any member in your party please contact us first and we'll talk you through.

Recently refurbished to a very high standard, this independent apartment overlooks the river Orbieu yet, step through the cobbled courtyard and be in the heart of Lagrasse, seconds away from all the amenaties and restaurants. The accommodation has a degree of flexibility with double beds or more singles available on request. All the interior accessories are antique or have been custom made for the apartment. Perhaps the most exciting feature of this gite is the top terrace - see below for further details. The smaller kitchen terrace is also a fantastic place to breakfast or dine. The kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, oven, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, microwave and all accessories required to turn out your holiday meals.
All the bedrooms have modern en suite well finished bath or shower rooms, with the largest having a cast iron roll-top bath. The gite has unlimited hot water. We provide all bed linens in fine white Egyptian cotton.

The riverside top terrace is 90 square meters. It is half covered to provide shade for those wishing to keep out of the sun. It has a characterful old stone sink, a BBQ/Plancha and a cold shower for those of you who might wish for a speedy cooling off on those hot summer days!
There are loungers and a dining table seating eight. The terrace offers stunning views to the hills opposite as well as a spectacular sunset (the sun sets opposite). The kitchen terrace looks onto the internal courtyard and offers an atmospheric location for a morning coffee or evening meal.
There is ample free parking in the village car parks only a 2 minute walk away.

“Excellent place to start your year”
Very cosy, spacious appartment in ancient building in the center of Lagrasse, Corbiéres. Lovely inner court with access to a splendid terrace and a view over the river, the medieval bridge and the monastry. Very tastefully renovated rooms with individual shower and toilet. Big, comfortable beds. Floor heating. A kitchen with everything you need to cook delicious meals from the local markets - if you have a good cook with you. We spent a great time with our friends here (3 couples with 2 kids).
A wonderful and very clean apartment. Very calm (if you are not disturbed by natural noises like the sound of the river - we loved it).The look is modern and stylish but cosy anyway, lovingly decorated. Bed was comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. We really had a great time.
Excellent place, service good , the commodities are excellent. We recommend this rental for families with childreen, friend group.

“A Peaceful Sanctuary with Great Food and Good Company”
After a hectic trip around much of France we needed to unwind and enjoy French rural life at its best. In the beautiful village of Lagrasse we found a designer sanctuary with all the space, peace and quiet we were looking for at the House la France. An incredible location with a huge roof terrace overlooking the winding river, were we ate, drank, laughed and danced the warm days away as life should be. We enjoyed country walks and sampled many of the excellent restaurants in the lovely village of Lagrasse that also has many small designer artisans making pottery or other quality gifts. All the local people were friendly and we had great service from the local bakery and pharmacist. Our thanks to Nicole for all her recommendations and to Michael who arranged for one of our party to see a local doctor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful apartment and it helped our distant family reconnect in a wonderful way.
“A little price of heaven”
We booked the 3 bedroom apartment as ithe decor and terrace looked so fabulous, we were not disappointed it exceeded our expectations, Exceptionally clean and spacious chic decor, we immediately felt at home. the terrace is huge and the views are stunning. The apartment location and Lagrasse was perfect to explore the Languedoc region, we will certainly return in the future. I am extremely fussy where I stay and this was in my opinion perfect in every way, highly recommended.
