“Stay in the heart of Lagrasse without breaking the bank” Spacious comfortable rooms in a chilled atmosphere, right in the village centre. Ideal for checking out the really lovely 'little carcassonne' that Lagrasse is. Great dog walks also beside the river, which is dammed in the summer for swimming apparently.
“Highly Recommended” We have recently returned from 1 weeks holiday staying in the Garden Studio in Lagrasse. Firstly, we had such a warm welcome from Guy & Claire (the owners) we felt immediately relaxed and at home. The accomodation was tastefully furnished and comfortable, a 12th century restoration with the benefits of modern conveniences. The standard of the accomodation for a rental was very high. The village itself was quaint with a few shops and restaurants, the bakers was opened every day with wonderful french bread, cakes and pastries. Ate out in Lagrasse a couple of times and thought meals fairly priced and standard of food good - other occasions ate in as the kitchen is fully equipped and it was nice to sit in the garden with a bottle of wine (local of course). Visited Carcassone, french market, Narbonne, beaches near Narbonne, La Franqui further afield and a beach near Beziers which was very nice also went to Toulouse. Pretty sure there was a lot more to explore perhaps next time. Would definately recommend - was sorry that the holiday came to an end.
“A truly unique place in a superb location” We spent a wonderful, relaxing few days here in May. A truly unique place and a stargazer’s paradise with some of the most spectacular scenery we’ve ever seen. Beautiful walking country perfect for the novice or experienced hiker.
Ideal for a writer’s/artist’s retreat or anyone who really wants to be in contact with nature and disconnect completely from the daily grind. The barn is a stunning open-plan space, beautifully converted.
Just as mentioned in owner Rebecca’s description, we did hear the frog chorus one evening, fed the visiting donkeys plus two horses and heard the cuckoo’s call which would give Delius a run for his money!
Well located for nearby towns and villages, wineries and less than an hour’s drive from the coast.
Cannot recommend highly enough.
“Delightful house in an exceptional location” We stayed for a week as a family (two adults, two young boys). The location within Lagrasse couldn't be better; views from every window over the river and abbey, fifty yards from the charming market square which is crowded with artisanal stalls on Saturdays. There is almost no passing traffic except pedestrians so it is quiet and the small courtyard between the gate and front door is a lovely suntrap to sit in. Inside it has been recently renovated to a good standard; our boys loved their large room in the eaves at the top of the house. I strongly recommend this house, the only possible exception would be for babies, as there are marble stairs and a shower but no bath. We loved Lagrasse and the surrounding area, and when we go back we will definitely stay in this house.
“A little price of heaven” We booked the 3 bedroom apartment as ithe decor and terrace looked so fabulous, we were not disappointed it exceeded our expectations, Exceptionally clean and spacious chic decor, we immediately felt at home. the terrace is huge and the views are stunning.
The apartment location and Lagrasse was perfect to explore the Languedoc region, we will certainly return in the future.
I am extremely fussy where I stay and this was in my opinion perfect in every way, highly recommended.
“An Oasis in the village of Lagrasse” We stayed here the last week in May. What a lovely time we had. The property was wonderfully restored and beautifully decorated & equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. It was sparkling clean. Guy and Claire met us on our arrival and were so helpful. They made us feel extremely welcome. The property is situated right in the village behind a high wall. You walk into an oasis of tranquillity, the court yard is beautifully laid out, with seating and eating areas and above ground pool. You walk out into a village parking area and you are within one minutes walk of boulangerie, cafes, restaurants, shops etc. Lots to do in the area, hiking, cycling, river walks and swims. Carcassonne is within 25 minutes drive, as is the Canal du Midi, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
“A relaxed holiday in a luxury home full of character” We spent four unforgettable days in this spacious and luxurious house in the centre of the wonderful medieval town of Lagrasse, with its famous covered market, artisanal shops, and walks by the river and Abbey and beyond. We were a party of five, which included three teenagers, who were able to explore the town and surrounding countryside freely.
We were spoiled for choice with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in the beautifully designed house, and we made good use of the well equipped kitchen, in particular after a memorable trip to the market on Saturday morning, and enjoyed meals outside in the enclosed and sheltered courtyard in the Spring sunshine.
The instructions on using the facilities were clear, linen and towels were provided.
We also enjoyed a trip out to the coast near Narbonne, driving through amazing landscapes with castles and vineyards.
I recommend a stay in this home to anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful holiday in a traditional French setting.
“Wonderful week of character, wine, good food and good company” A wonderfully characterful apartment set in a timeless medieval village with a stupendous location, great restaurants in staggering distance and the nicest people.
A slower pace with a wonderful garden table under the walnut trees, wine cooling in the river and dinner beckoning in a local restaurant (50 metres away).
We all loved the apartment and had a well deserved and relaxing week. A definite one to remember and highly recommended.
