“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2013

Our holiday at the beach house was a very relaxing week. Situated right on the beach we sat in our deck chairs taking in the fabulous setting, and enjoyed watching the water-sports. We are keen windsurfers and kayakers so it was lovely to be able to simply walk out of the door and onto the beach. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with a bright open feel. Although the weather was mixed it was equally nice watching the waves in the warmth and comfort, however when the sun came out it was heaven. We also loved the small harbour and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the Haven Cafe and the Osbourne View pub, nice to walk to in the evenings. Hopefully this was the first of many stays there, especially as the owners were friendly and helpful.

“What a fantastic spot”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2012

The house exceeded all of our expectations, we could not stop looking out at the views, both day and night. We were a little bit concerned about not being connected to mains electricity but again, this was not a problem. The log burner was great, we collected drift wood off the beach and had very cosy evenings in front of it. It looked like it has just been refurbished, all of the decoration, furniture and fittings looked new and it was very clean. We did a fair amount of walking, we can recommed the Osborne View Pub in Hill Head, about a 15 minute walk away to the east for excellent food. Walking west along the cliff tops gave stunning views across the solent. We did walk all the way to Warsash and got a taxi back.

“Wow, what a stunning view!”

Wow, what a stunning view! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the beach outside, good walks and a lovely tea room nearby, overlooking the small harbour. The Haven Beach House was very clean and comfortable, and the TV being wall mounted was ideal for the children, as out of harm’s way. The proprietors couldn’t have been more helpful and had done a great job to make our stay a pleasant experience. We very much hope to return next year.

“So glad they gave me my money back!”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2012

Terrible rental, grimy with nasty brown polyester shiny sheets, no towels, grubby beds and absolutely no amenities. Be warned this property does not have mains electricity so power is at a premium hence no appliances. No kettle, toaster, coffee maker a TV so small you need binoculars. The owners to their credit, returned my money when I saw how awful the property was and could not stay there. Thankfully I found a nice B and B. I walked the beach last week to see if they had made any upgrades per my suggestions and they had not so that is why they are getting a bad review, I felt if a family saved all year for a holiday and ended up here they should be pre warned.

Owner's reply: Newly refurbished and painted white throughout we have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming people to our holiday home. A few hours each visit is spent cleaning, washing & ironing new clean white sheets & preparing for new holiday guests. We have very much enjoyed their wonderful comments & feedback with many promising to return next year. A courtesy text is often made just to make sure all is well. It is stated in the advert that the chalet is operated by a brand new state of the art solar system, however no client has ever run out of electricity or noticed this to be any different to being supplied by cable & there is a kettle & a grill. On first contact with this guest after she initially disturbed the neighbours and then with her list of unreasonable demands, we quickly felt a full refund was the best option for both parties. However this was obviously not satisfactory as we have had a rude e-mail listing endless changes to make. If when booking; a busy street, large TV screen & coffee maker are priority over a tranquil setting, a stunning sea view and retreat from the bustle of everyday life then this property is not for you.
