Whilst in a rural position, Abersoch is easily reached by car in 10 minutes where many up-markets restaurants, cafes, bars and shops can be found together with a very good beach. The cottage is also in easy reach of Pwllheli, Morfa Nefyn and Aberdaron. Abersoch and Pwllheli provides many amusements - sailing, windsurfing, boat trips, golf, high wires, go carting, Segway driving to name just a few of the amenities on offer.

The North Wales region

North Wales is a rich and diverse region with many medieval castles, places of historical interest and beautiful countryside and beaches. Visit Portmerion, the Festiniog Slate Mines, Criccieth Castle, Caernafon Castle, Conwy and Beaumaris Castles or venture into the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Beddgelert is a beautiful village as is Llanberis where you can climb Snowdon or even take the train up the mountain. Travel the Snowdonia Steam Railway from Porthmadog to Caernarfon or just travel a section of the railway.

Beaches are in abundance - Abersoch, Morfa Nefyn, Whistling Sands, Llanbedrog to name just a few on the Llyn Pensisula. Walk the newly refuburished and re-opened Welsh coastal Path which starts in Flintshire and goes all around to Pembrokshire - the only coastal path to traverse the whole of one country.

Snowdonia/Gwynedd

Abersoch is a small village with a lot of character, many up market bars, restuarants and shops such as Jack Wills, Fat Face and White Stuff plus the well known Abersoch Boatyard. Abersoch is lively at any time of year but really comes to life in the summer months. Watch the world go by on the terrace looking out over the harbour of the newly renovated Zinc for either a drink or in the restaurant. Sit on the Patio at the Vaynol and get the last of the rays of sunshine or head over to Tudwals to the lovely new terrace at the back of the pub which has a moveable roof to enable you to sit out even when it's raining together with a small play area for the kids. On dull days take the family to paint pottery and have a coffee. The beaches are beautiful, large with good white sand and safe shallow water The are easy to reach with many boating activities available.

Abersoch is the sort of place you go year after year and then return with your own family - it has that sort of magic.

“Perfect place to stay for both short and long breaks”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2015

We could not rate this cottage highly enough, from arrival to departure, we found ourselves in amazement with the quality of every little detail in the building. I'd love to list every single thing we loved here but there isn't enough hours in the day. All the bedrooms were of a great quality, the kitchen and social area was great and the shower room and bathroom were of an excellent quality. The only things of note were the fact that if there is a large number of you staying there and you all get in from the beach and you all want a shower, the tank empties quickly, but this to be expected when a cottage is in such a rural location so it is more of an observation than a complaint, also when driving on the roads around the cottage be warned that they are all single track and there is very few passing points so make sure you have your most capable people at the wheel. Again this is an observation rather than a complaint as this cannot be helped. As I mentioned earlier, there is not a single bad word I can say about this cottage and I urge anyone reading this review to book it as soon as possible because for the price I do not think you will find a better cottage anywhere near Abersoch. Short drive to villages such as Abersoch and Pwllheli so make sure you stock up on your way in to save having to keep driving around. We also used the BBQ whilst we were there, very good one and would recommend waiting for a nice day to use it. To sum it all up, this is the perfect cottage to stay at if you are in numbers, facilities are great and it really is a small slice of perfection and would like to thank the owners once again for allowing us to stay there.

Thank you for your review. We really take pride in Bryn Goleu and have many returning guests. Glad you liked the new BBQ. Jenny

“Superb!”

Superb cottage! Superb location! Superb weather! (cannot be guaranteed though!) In one of the finest locations on the Llyn Peninsula with all-round panoramic views, this cottage has quality fixtures and fittings. The only thing missing was a knife sharpener (well, at least we couldn't find one!). Highly recommended!

“Fantastic location, great accommodation”

second visit and enjoyed it every much as the first. Location is perfect for exploring the Lleyn Peninsula, with great views. Accommodation is very good: spacious, comfortable and homely. Overall great value for money. Will visit again and recommend without hesitation.
