From the owner

Two self catering Scandinavian style chalets set at the edge of an oak wood just to the south of Ardgay village.

Peaceful location with varied bird and wildlife. there is a wild garden which is not enclosed.

Any part of the northern highlands can be visited within a day, including the NC500 route

. Ardgay is a small village with general store/café selling all the everyday necessities required for your self catering holiday. There is a railway station with ample parking should you wish to explore the highlands by train.

The cathedral town of Dornoch with varied shops and beautiful beach is 14 miles to the east. Loch or sea fishing, golf course, cycle tracks and forest walks all nearby.

Booking in time is 4pm and booking out time is 10.00am.The nearest petrol station is 14 miles away so guests are advised to fill up their vehicle before beginning their holiday.

Thank you for your review, which I have just seen. The other chalet has a shower cubicle, guests can request that chalet, if it is available and they do not wish a bath for young children. Sorry you did not enjoy the beds, but hope you enjoyed your stay.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Julie (the owner) a message.

If Julie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
