“Worst experience”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2016

Terrible place to stay as the owners of the property have wrongly gobbled up my deposit by showing some old damages of their house.

I suppose this is the type of review that every holiday home owner dreads even though it is the only bad review we have had in 6 years of owning the chalet. This client badly damaged the top of the table by putting a hot pan or dish on the table top without using the table mats provided. The damage was quite extensive and involved having a furniture restorer out to try to repair the table rather than having to replace the table. The £50 damage deposit that we ask for is paid with a level of responsibility, that it will be used to pay for damages caused by the client if necessary. The previous guests left the chalet in a really good condition and certainly did not cause this damage to the table. We have only ever taken the damage deposit off one other client in the time we have had the chalet. Most of our guests let us know when there have been minor breakages which we replace without any charge. Needless to say, a carelessly damaged table is in a different league all together. I would urge any prospective guests to heed all of our positive reviews rather than this one.

“Peace and tranquility.”

A very clean cosy well equipped chalet(more like a little house)very good value. We knew that there were no shops near so stocked up with cool bags on the way down, the necessities were provided. The beach close and plenty of walks around. We were surprised as how quiet it was.We stayed 4 nights but will go again. There is no mobile signal but there is Wi-Fi and there is a phone box at the entrance to the site.Parking is just outside the chalet.

Thank you for your kind review. I am so pleased you want to come again. We really value our regular guests and consequently offer a 10% reduction off our advertised rates for future bookings.

“Fantastic stay for 3 generations family!”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2016

This a great base for exploring a wonderful location - many varied clean safe beaches (some with loos) and unspoilt sand dunes ( with grasshoppers, lizards, snails, rabbits, crabs, a fox, etc. ) nearby. Good with or without transport. (We loved Barrafundle, Tenby, Manorbier as well as Freshwater East) We were a 3 generation family, with friends and more family staying nearby. At low tide there is plenty of room to fly model gliders, as well as dig, picnic, beachcomb, cave hunt, rock scramble, surf, tidefight and swim (the sea was warm :) ). We hired wetsuits and a paddleboard from the welcoming Longhouse cafe/bar. The cottage information folder and stack of local leaflets were helpful - we chose castles for wet days ( Pembroke was fun: hundreds of steps, walls and towers to explore with excellently presented information, even engaging an energetic and boisterous 6 year old. The castle shop keeper needs a medal for longsuffering patience as a good range of souvenirs were coveted. ) The cottage itself was even better than advertised, exceptionally clean and comfortable, & generous with kitchen equipment, also with basic supplies of tea, sugar, salt, spices, soap etc to ease the arrival day. It's compact (2 bedrooms) but the downstairs sofa was fine for grandparents and we didnt feel overcrowded. There is a tiny but useful shop at the Longhouse bar , helpful staff, and very comfortable to relax there with a bigger group - sports TV, darts & table games as well as food and drink (and ice-cream.) Sarah, the owner, was very helpful via email beforehand, making it a stress-free and memorable week . THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am so glad you enjoyed your holiday and found the chalet to your liking. Please come and stay again.
