“Excellent apartment in great location”
Such a lovely apartment in a really fab area. Only 15 mins walk to st Marks Square but area is great with everything you need and some lovely restaurants which are not too expensive for Venice. Took a private water taxi to arrive and that was excellent and only took about 20 minutes. Going home we took the Aliguna ferrry from Ca Rezzonica (just a few mins walk from the apartment) direct to the airport. This took about 40 minutes and cost £15 euros per person. Buy tickets in advance. No need to change just direct to the airport. Jonathan was a pleasure to deal with and answered all my queries promptly before going. We also did the 3 islands trip going to Murano, Burano and Portcelli Only costs 20 euros and booked in St Marks Square where the boat departs from. Would definataely recommend and will return again.
“Amazing apartment in fantastic location”
Ca' Leonessa is a great apartment and we had a fantastic stay here. I was travelling with my parents, both of whom aren't as mobile as they once were, and I looked for an easily accessible apartment with good transport links. Ca' Leonessa had both. The apartment is on the first floor (an easy climb for my parents!) and a very short walk to the Ca' Rezzonico Vaporetto stop. It was easy to get home after a day of walking, which encouraged my parents to go farther afield than they might have done. The apartment is beautifully furnished, and four of us were easily (and comfortably) accommodated. We were met at the Vaporetto stop (our greeter was wonderful, even when we were late arriving. As a side note I'd highly recommend pre-booking a water taxi from the airport, or getting a taxi to the bus station and getting on the Vaporetto there...we waited for at least an hour at the airport to get on the Orange line down the grand canal!) Everything is provided in the apartment, and there is a supermarket round the corner. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby, and we didn't have to stray far to find somewhere lovely to eat in the evenings. We had an amazing weekend, and I would definitely stay in Ca' Leonessa again...having a lovely base really made the weekend.
“Great stay in Ca Leonessa”
WE stayed in a two bedroom two bathroom apartment in Venice with our two adult children. The apartment is all redone and is very comfortable. The location is wonderful and we walked everywhere. Loved looking out the windows at the canal and having the market right outside our door. Grocery stores are close as are many restaurants and cafe's. We were greeted by a lovely girl who gave us lots of information and helped us arrange a water taxi for our early morning departure several days later. We have already recommended Ca Leonessa to several family and friends.
“Perfect for a family stay”
Stayed here with our family including 4 children/teens aged 9, 12, 13 and 15. The apartment was really comfortable and well equipped. It is close to everything but not too noisy. The kitchen is well set up for self catering and there is a good small supermarket just around the corner. Each morning there is a barge selling fruit and vegetables on the canal just outside the apartment. There are also lots of extra things that make it a great place for a family to stay including board games and a selection of DVDs for when the kids need some down time. I highly recommend this apartment
It was in a good location . The best plaza was near by . The food stores were around the corner . The many outdoor restaurants were very close . Transportation also was very close around the island . It was the best apartment I stayed at thru my trip in Italy . Thank you for having us we will be back .
“A marvelous location in Venezia”
We spent a week in Venezia last march in this apartment with our two teenagers. The flat in Dorsoduro is centraly located and perfect to visit Venezia. The apartment was very agreeable very well equipped. It was very convenient, you can find really near shops (butcher, supermarket, bakery, fruits all you need). The place is also near of some good restaurants and of a Groom (fabulous ice creams). I recommend this property to all my friends and i hope to be able to come back soon.
“Memorable Venice Experience”
Highly recommend this rental to others. Perfect location to site see, close to shops & restaurants. Easy to get around & enjoy the area. The flat was clean, comfortable & provided whatever was required during our stay. We have so many great memories of our stay in Venice & this ideal accommodation.
“Staying at Ca'Leonessa made our stay in Venice perfect”
This apartment is a hidden secret and located perfectly on a picturesque canal in a quiet district of Venice where you are able to blend into the local life very easily. It has been recently renovated and is very stylish with every amenity possible from free high speed wifi to dishwasher and full laundry facilities. Jon is the consummate host, freely and promptly answering by email any queries you might have, and the booking and payment process was simple and speedy. We especially loved catching a water taxi fom the airport to within metres of the door, to be met by our local host with keys and full instructions on all we needed. Ca'Leonessa is everything it claims to be on its website and more. It is the best value for money accommodation we have enjoyed in a long time.
“Home away from home”
We were very impressed with this property, as two mature couples we found it good value and very comfortable. It is about a 20 minute walk to St. Mark's square, very close to the vaporetto stop and in a quiet area of Venice. Yet a square just behind the property houses a supermarket, eateries, bakery, gelateria, fresh fish and more. The windows look out over a canal, where a barge sells fresh fruit and veg, people walk to work or school, and tourists take photos of the quaint bridges that cross the canal. A small courtyard was the perfect place for a glass of wine at the end of the day to reflect on our days adventures. The kitchen was fitted with everything you could need, and there is a great selection of books, CDs and DVDs along with a great sound system and comfy lounge suite. Highly recommend. “Perfect appartment and location”
We have stayed in three apartments in Venice and this was by far the best. It is beautiful, spacious, well located, and well appointed. Windows look out on a canal. Gondolas float by. Famous produce barge a stone's throw away. Very close to Campo Santa Margherita and Campo San Barnaba, a grocery store, and many bars and restaurants. Close to vaporetto stop, Accademia bridge, and Zattere. In my opinion, Dorsoduro is the best place to stay in Venice. it is convenient, quiet, and gorgeous. I would return to Ca' Leonessa in a heartbeat.
