Location description from owner

The North Wales region

Situated in the Snowdonia National Park. Close to fabulous beaches, stunning scenery and the beautiful Island of Anglesey.

Conwy

Wern Cottage is a detached property located in the friendly village of Capelulo at the end of the Sychnant Pass, the northernmost pass in the Snowdonia National Park (one of Conwy's best kept secrets!). Superb walks can be enjoyed straight from your doorstep allowing easy access to some of the most stunning scenery in the whole of Wales. A 30 minute scenic drive will take you right to the foot of Snowdon in Llanberis. Wern Cottage is ideally placed for visiting towns such as historic Conwy, just 3 miles away, with its lovely marina and 13th century Castle ( a World Heritage Site). The elegant resort of Llandudno with its stunning location and host of attractions and restaurants is also close by. If you don't want to take the car, Capelulo boasts a traditional country pub, The Fairy Glen which serves lunches and evening meals and for something a little different, the aptly named Austrian Restaurant is also just a short walk from the Cottage.

“Good cottage in good location”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2016

This cottage was well appointed and clean. Kitchen appliances were fantastic, stove, dishwasher etc. We appreciated the wine, water, milk and biscuits left by owners. However, we felt that the cottage lacked some basic inclusions we would expect from a property in this price range. For example no basic kitchen items such as; cooking oil, salt and pepper, plastic and alfoil wrap. Also, no clothes dryer and no bathroom products such as shampoo. When traveling around the U.K., it's impossible to carry all these things with you and we have usually found that cottages at this end of the market usually provide them. All that said, the cottage is lovely and a short 10 minute drive from historic Conwy.

Thank you so much for your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at Wern and am sorry that you found a few things were remiss. We do strive to make our guests stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible and therefore I will definitely look into providing the items you have suggested. There is normally salt and pepper at the cottage so I am puzzled as to why they were not in their usual place. Up until last year we did provide bathroom products but found that people tended not to use them as they tended to bring their own. We do still provide hand soaps of course in the bathrooms and in the kitchen and washing powder for the washing machine. For clothes drying there is a clothes airer available and also an outside drying line. We are looking at updating the washing machine soon and hope to upgrade to provide a washer/dryer facility for our guest convenience in the future. Thanks again for your comments. We really do appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback.
