Squirrel Lodge at Woodlands View offers quality family self catering accommodation ideally situated in the heart of the Forest of Dean & Wye Valley. Recently assessed by Quality In Tourism and awarded a prestigious 4 stars

The Lodge is situated on a small secure gated private park with coded access and allocated parking adjacent to the lodge. It is a brand new facility which offers luxurious accommodation for a family of up to 5 (with child's pull out bed) plus cot if required.

There are two bedrooms both with free-view TV & DVD player, one king size en-suite, the other twin, separate bathroom and open plan kitchen, dinning and living area all with modern appliances fitted throughout. The living accommodation is second to none with leather sofas to relax into and a 53" free-view TV, unlimited free internet wi-fi access and DVD player provided. There is also lockable storage available outside for all your holiday needs like bikes, diving equipment and golf clubs.

Squirrel Lodge is just a short car journey away from the stunning vistas of Symonds Yat, the Gothic Tintern Abbey, Goodrich Castle and many more areas of outstanding natural beauty in and around the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

Closer to the lodge there's loads of local attractions to keep you busy including Clearwell Castle and Caves, Puzzlewood where filming for Star Wars and Merlin has recently taken place, cycle hire for the many woodland tracks, adventurous woodland activities like GoApe and the endless woodland walks. If you fancy going slightly further afield there's the wilds of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Malvern Hills to visit and if you want to do some serious shopping there's the city of Gloucester 20 miles away. There's something for everybody in the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Richard (the owner) a message.

If Richard (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
