From the owner

The Barn is situated within the statutory Forest of Dean in Joyford, set within its own grounds of 6 acres, surrounded by farmland and woodland with direct access to the Forest. It is a scenic, tranquil location accessed from a single track no through lane but surprisingly centrally located for exploring the Forest and surrounding areas. There is a very good pub within 5 minutes walk, a shop / Post Office and Chinese takeaway 0.4 miles away and the nearest town with all amenities is Coleford, 2 miles away.

The property is two storey with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The main bedroom is a double and the second bedroom is smaller with a bunk bed. Travel cot and high chair available. This lay out is ideal for families. The downstairs living space is predominantly open plan comprising a kitchen, dining area and lounge along with a utility room and downstairs wet room. Outside is a private enclosed decking area and a private garden with hot tub.

The Barn provides an ideal base for walking and cycling, with many tracks accessible from the door and a drop off / pick up service offered if required. Other outdoor activities nearby include canoeing, riding, caving, fishing and golf. Local attractions such as Puzzlewood, Perrygrove, Clearwell Caves, Go Ape, Symonds Yat, Dean Heritage Museum to name but a few are all within a 5 mile radius.

A welcome pack containing tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, eggs, butter and preserves is standard. Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, we expect you to clean up after them and keep them under control - £10 per dog per stay. We are not a working farm but resident animals include dogs, horses, fish, chickens, ducks and sheep, guests are welcome to feed animals and collect eggs etc. with owners consent. Guests are welcome to explore the farm but do so at their own risk. Children must be supervised when not in the areas designated to the let.

The main bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has a full size bunk bed. The bathroom has a large bath with shower above, WC and wash basin. Downstairs is open plan with a large kitchen, dining area and lounge. Also a utility room including a wet room with power shower, WC and wash basin. The log burner in the lounge is available for use at any time and the initial paper, kindling, wood / coal are provided.

The decking area has garden furniture for al fresco dining and a BBQ. There is a hot tub in the garden - available unless very cold weather - only plastic glasses for use in the hot tub, guests must supply their own towels for outdoor use and children must be supervised whilst using hot tub.

There is an area where bikes / kit or dogs can be washed off.

Locked undercover storage is available for bikes.

2 designated off road parking spaces within 10m of the property.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Sarah (the owner) a message.

If Sarah (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
