“A cosy country retreat that's well worth a visit!!”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2015

This is by far the nicest cottage we've stayed in. It's so warm and cosy, every need has been carefully considered!! Definitely the place to unwind and forget about work! We just wish we could have stayed for longer. We will definitely be back to explore more walks in the lovely Forest of Dean. We also highly recommend the Tudor Farmhouse in Clearwell for gorgeous food, we were so impressed we went back twice in one weekend.

“A lovely welcome”

The bottle of champagne was a lovely surprise - and a great start to our holiday! Peacock Cottage is clean, bright and well appointed. The fact that we spent a lot of time indoors (it rained non stop), but still had a good time is testament to this.

“High quality cottage in a beautiful setting”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2013

The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. It was in a quiet area with walks from the doorstep into the forest. Also many places of interest to visit nearby. Recommend hiring a mountain bike and going on the 11mile family trail.

“Great cottage, great location”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2013

We stayed at peacock cottage over a bank holiday weekend mainly to have a bit of a break and go mountain biking in the Forrest of dean. The location is fantastic for biking and is within easy reach of the cycle centre and local trails. We have good fun exploring the area on bikes and found the advice given by the hosts to be accurate and useful. The cottage is well appointed but for longer breaks we would have liked an ironing board! The location was very quiet and not too far away from local conveniences. The attention to detail of the owners was very good and the housekeeper was very keen to make sure we were well looked after. Wireless broadband is a bonus as there is very limited phone coverage at the cottage. There was a welcome basket on arrival which covered the basics but the co op was litterally 5 mins drive away. If your here for some biking then its a great location to go from and there is secure bike storage on site. For a break from the hustle and bustle with some good biking and relaxed surroundings with owners and a housekeeper that really do want you to enjoy your stay then this is the place to come. Very understated in its descriptions and well worth the visit. We would definitely return in the future and look forward to doing so! Thanks to the owners and the housekeeper for a great few days away! Gareth and Jo

“home from home”

my wife and i plus our two dogs had a great easter at the cottage. Really good location for the whole wye valley and very well equipped. Lots of walks from the cottage door and no where is far by car. Nikita has done a good job with the cottage and was very friendly and flexible during the booking process. I would recommend to others and stay again myself.

Many thanks for your great feedback. We are very pleased that you had a good time at the cottage. We Would be very happy to welcome you back to stay at some time in the future! Best wishes, Nikita and family

“Looking forward to going back”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2013

This is the perfect country retreat. I had seen a few photos before visiting the cottage and they really don't do it justice. It's got the perfect homely country cottage feel with great views and straight away I felt at home. Being surrounded by forest meant that I could walk all day long through beautiful country side. And to top it off had to be the selection of pubs nearby that served great classic pub food. Loved our weekend away at the cottage and looking forward to our return trip. Thank you very much Will
