A well appointed and beautifully decorated 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment within the heart of the city centre. To rent for holiday breaks or business stays.

Situated within a secure apartment development the accommodation is quiet and peaceful whilst still having the benefits of city centre living.

Spoil yourself by choosing to stay in this immaculate apartment, with all the delights and attractions of the wonderful city of York right on your doorstep.

Be a stone's throw from the Shambles, The Minster, Treasurer's House, The Jorvik Viking Centre, Stonegate's fabulous shops, the City Walls, a huge selection of cafes , bars and restaurants and all York's many and varied attractions. Seasonal markets, with all their vibrant stalls and exciting atmosphere are just steps away.

At our apartment, your really couldn't get more central. Yet, up on the top floor, with wide panoramic views of York's higgledy piggledy rooftops, you will experience spacious and calm "loft-living". Situated down one of the city's famous snickleways, Peter Lane, the apartment welcomes you into a spotless and gracious interior and the hubbub of the city retreats.

Our very central location means we don't park onsite but we can offer free parking for 1 car about 4 minutes walk from the apartment.

For extra cars we can provide full details of city car parks to suit various budgets.

We are not a business running multiple holiday lets.

We maintain, clean and prepare the apartment for you ourselves, so we can be sure everything is as perfect as possible and presented to the highest standards.

We leave an information booklet in the apartment giving details on how everything works and guidance on where to eat, buy groceries and see the sights.

We also have a box of leaflets on the tourist attractions and plenty of maps. And of course will do our best to answer any questions you may have.

Getting around

York is small and the centre is pedestrian only, so plan to see everything on foot. Everyone does. You’ll only need a car, bus or taxi if travelling away from the city or to somewhere outside the main city area, such as the racecourse. (Although that is perfectly doable on foot if you don’t mind walking). For getting here, the train is ideal and we are a short and easy walk from the station. Trains from London are frequent and fast, travel time is about 2 hours. If you come by car we give you a parking pass that lets you park and leave you car in the city car parks, these are only four minutes walk away. The pass lets you park for free - which will save a lot of money as YORK parking charges are quite high.

Interaction with guest

We live only five minutes walk away so normally we will be on hand to assist you if any problems arise, and we’re also contactable by phone text or email if you need any advice. When you arrive, if you would like, we can meet you and show you around the apartment and explain a few domestic details and answer any questions you might have. If you prefer to do a Self Check in and just collect a key from our key safe, you are very welcome to do that - we aim to be flexible. Please also feel free to ask any questions you might have before booking.

Very Good

“Fabulous apartment”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2019

2 couples stayed for 2 night stay in this emmaculate apartment. Everything catered for. Fabulous location. Owners have thought of everything and were so helpful with everything. Would thoroughly recommend. Might be a bit of a squeeze if more than four in the booking.

“Great find”

Fantastic luxurious apartment, right in the centre of York, few mins walk away from shops, bars, restaurant, shambles & minster. Everything you need is provided & lots of extras as well, Prosecco, tea, coffee, coffee machine, butter, bread, jams cake, even some cereal. 3 comfy double or king beds, large bedrooms, 2 lovely bathrooms. Massive bath in the ensuite. Only faults is that the living room is a little bit small if it is fully occupied.

“Very pleased”

The apartment was very pleasing with several delightful "personal touches". Parking is not very convenient but that is mainly because the property is very central for the city of York.

“Stunning apartment in excellent location offering all you need for a perfect stay”

Reviewed 22 May 2017

Located in the very centre of York close to all amenities catering for all requirements both inside and outside of the apartment. Whether by sheer chance or careful planning the owner, Liz, offers the perfect place to stay (having met her I believe it is down to her careful and meticulous planning).

“Amazing apartment in a fantastic location”

This light and airy and well-equiped apartment has everything you need for a great break in York. Centrally placed but quiet with views over the historic city. We loved it.

“Simply amazing”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2016

On arrival by car we did get a little bit lost. After a bit of male defiance I conceded defeat and asked for directions which very quickly sorted out my failings. We found the apartment block and the female group members gloated sufficiently. We booked the apartment stay in York as a surprise 40th birthday for a friend and stayed as two couples. In this instance we decided not to bring the children as we wanted to sample some of the more liquid refreshment fayre that York had to offer. That being said the apartment is perfectly fitted out for a family stay. The apartment couldn't be any more central to York. A 3 minute slow walk brings you to York Minster and the main city centre. The shops are even nearer. The city is beautiful and i would recommend it to anyone. The apartment itself is spacious (the photographs on the website do not do it justice). There was more than enough space for the four of us to co-habit and not get under each other's feet and we didn't even need to extend into the mezzanine level. The beds are large and comfortable and the whole apartment was spotlessly clean. I had numerous conversations with Liz over our stay and she couldn't have been more helpful even supplying welcome cake and fresh flowers all round! We had a wonderful stay and the only thing that bought our visit down a shade was that we could only stay for a long weekend. We will return to York and we will be booking again probably with the family next time. I would absolutely recommend the apartment and actively encourage people to stay in this lovely city.

“Delightful appartment in a perfect location for the city”

Reviewed 9 Jan 2016

We had the pleasure of staying in this lovely apartment over Christmas. It is very clean, spacious and very well appointed. It has everything that you could wish for, and is very central within a short walking distance of all the sights of this beautiful city. The owners were very helpful, and kindly laid on Christmas decorations that added to make our festive break complete. Thank you once again.

“York-Pope Head”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2016

Our second visit to this superb centrally located apartment. Liz is very helpful, and it is so easy to book and make arrangements online. We were due to arrive during the recent floods, Liz emailed to explain the situation and kept us updated prior to our arrival, gave us very useful advice and directions into the city avoiding the road closures. We arrived no problem and had a lovely relaxing few days in the apartment enjoying all York has to offer, I would highly recommend this apartment for a thoroughly relaxing time, with some excellent cakes from Bettys to enjoy on arrival.

“Perfect, as always”

Reviewed 16 Dec 2015

This was our third stay at this amazing apartment, and I cannot recommend it enough. The apartment itself is finished to a really high standard, with every little extra including reliable wifi, underfloor heating, a smart TV that is easy to work (!), big, comfortable beds, a fully kitted out kitchen with, literally, everything you could need...I could go on. Added to this, the owner goes out of her way to add so many great touches - I think I counted four vases of fresh flowers, not to mention the bottle of wine, baked goods, butter, tea, coffee, milk, preserves etc, The apartment couldn't be located in a more prime spot in York, right in the heart of everything, but as it's down a quiet little alley, and very secure, the minute you close the door you could be miles away from all the hustle bustle. This time in particular we found the location very handy more than once as I could make a run back to the apartment halfway though the day to drop shopping off, such is the lure of York's shops :) The owner herself is lovely, and makes it clear that nothing is too much trouble. You really get the sense, from the effort that she puts into the apartment and her friendly, approachable manner, that she genuinely cares about her guests. I think the owner's approach, along with the high quality of this accommodation, puts this place head and shoulders above any other self catering venue I've ever stayed in. I plan to be back there soon!
