23 Tackleway is a newly refurbished Victorian Cottage in Hastings Old Town, 200m from the sea. It adjoins the 600 acre Hastings Country Park perfect for coastal walks and is 5 minutes walk from numerous shops, galleries, restaurants, pubs and museums as well as the beach.

The cottage has a light and airy south-facing kitchen/reception with original features, sea views, dishwasher, microwave, washer-dryer, TV, DVD, free Wifi along with plenty of books, DVDs and games. The kitchen opens onto an extensive private decked area and garden with table and chairs, BBQ and sea views. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one children's bunk bed room. All have been beautifully furnished and have spectacular sea views. There is also a newly fitted bathroom with a bath with shower over and a downstairs toilet.

Hastings Old Town is a great place to holiday and nestles between the East and West Hills. The sea front is home to a beach launched fishing fleet and fish fresh from the boats can be bought less than 5 minutes from the house. There are also a great aquarium, shipwreck and fishermens museums and the award winning Jerwood Gallery with it's collection of 20th and 21st Century Art. The old Town is a maze of characterful streets, with unique shops and houses as well as a host of cafes, pubs and restaurants. There are all the ingredients of a traditional seaside holiday including world class crazy golf, beaches, two funicukar railways, a smugglers adventure and William the Conqueror's first English castle on the the West Hill. Further afield, there's the De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill, the historic towns of Rye and Winchelsea, miles of sandy beach and dunes at Camber Sands, Bodiam Castle and Battle, the site of the battle of Hastings, less than 30 minutes drive away.

Hastings old town is the place to be!

We had another wonderful stay in this home away from home in a great setting in Hastings. Gill couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming.

Hi Ian Thank you the nice things you say about the cottage. The location is great and we hope to provide everything you may need for an enjoyable holiday. I’m sorry I missed your email but there are other ways to contact me via the Tripadvisor message or text. I’m sorry you were disappointed that there was no parking but the listing doesn’t say that there is and most people for whom this is a concern message me before booking. I agree it is ridiculous that I cannot get some kind of permit for guests. As I don’t live at the property I am not entitled to a resident’s permit but that is a problem which only Hastings Council can solve. As far as the walk up to the property is concerned I have never attempted to hide the fact that the property is on a hill above the beach and that is why the views from the property are so beautiful but I’m sorry if you feel you were misled in any way and hope you were still able to enjoy your holiday.

How do damage deposits work?

If Gill (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
