“Quaint Cottage. Great Location”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2017

Peppercorn Cottage was a great choice for our first trip to Norfolk. It is set in a quiet location but only one hundred yards from the village pub which serves great food. The cosy cottage is very well equipped with everything you need for a holiday stay, and with parking, off road, right outside the door. It proved a perfect base for exploring the Norfolk coast - we played golf at Sheringham and Cromer and walked on the beautiful Holkham beach. The little town of Holt is about four miles away, with lovely shops, restaurants and galleries. We'll definitely be going back

“Charming Typical Norfolk Cottage and Excellent Customer Service”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2015

This was a charming and comfortable cottage which we booked for a short Easter break for five of us (including three teenagers) and our dog. The cottage is a typical brick and flint Norfolk cottage with bags of charm which we loved. The village of Bodham is peaceful - away from the hustle and bustle of other locations which meant we could visit busier areas and come back to a quiet haven at night! We traveled by car and would suggest that it was essential to get around as there are few facilities other than the pub in the village, although there was a bus from the village. Dealing with the owners for the booking and then again subsequently was a really positive experience - fast, friendly and helpful - and we couldn't have asked for better. It made for a perfect get-away and we would book again.

“Very good value for a short break in North Norfolk”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2012

We chose this cottage as it was good value for a few nights away and we were able to take our dog. It looks so tiny from the outside when you arrive but inside it's absolutely fine for a family of 4 plus a dog. The only minor down side was the bathroom upstairs, the bath was small with a basic handheld shower attachment on the tap.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review, I am pleased you enjoyed your break and felt you reieved good value, we have changed some of the features in the bathroom since your visit, including a new tap set which is very effecient.

“Long Weekend”

Reviewed 15 May 2012

I wanted to book a long weekend away for my partners 40th Birthday, initially it was difficult to select which weekend as he knew nothing about it but Diane was brilliant and more than accommodating when I kept swapping dates! I finally settled and booked May and had everything crossed for dry weather!! On Arrival at the cottage we were not disappointed, we had everything we needed, the cottage was very clean, warm and well presented. Tall people beware, my partner soon realised the need to duck as he went in and out, the ceiling is low when entering the kitchen and living room which I found fairly amusing, he resorted to duck signs in the end!! The bedrooms are a great size and very comfortable, lots of room to move around and would be perfectly suitable for 4 adults or a small family. We had a very warm welcome from our short term neighbours, and the local pub was lovely, we enjoyed an evening quizzing the landlord and lady and locals about things to do in the area. Food was also very good and reasonable. The post office shop was also a great surprise, and had everything so for those little forgotten bits although a very long walk from the cottage of about two minutes! The cottage was a nice distance from Holt, approx. £6 in a taxi, and the drive through to Sherringham and Wells was easy and very pretty. All in all we had a fantastic weekend and will not hesitate in coming here again. Peppercorn cottage is beautiful set in lovely surroundings very peaceful but close enough to Holt to enjoy an evening out. The weather was fantastic clear blue sky and sunshine all weekend, it was obviously just meant to be as the rain stopped on the Thrusday and started again on the Monday!! For us it is a short easy drive to get to but feels far enough away that you have really had a break. We are both refreshed and back to reality now but have very fond memories and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Peppercorn Cottage to friends and family. Thank you Diane x
