Description

Mountains and rivers, peace and tranquility

Colwyn Lodge is a beautiful log lodge set on the banks of the Afon (River) Colwyn by the edge of Beddgelert Forest, a short distance from the centre of the picturesque village of Beddgelert in the very heart of the Snowdonia National Park. The lodge is within the grounds of Hafod Wydr Farm, where we make our home. The farm nestles between the peaks of Snowdon and Moel Hebog and provides access to the vast forest and mountain walks. This, along with the river on your doorstep, fishing rights and full direct access to forest mountain bike routes, makes it a very special destination, one which provides a quiet and private experience and the ideal base for a holiday.

“An excellent base for exploring Snowdonia”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2016

The property was exactly as described. We found it cosy and practical. Wine and chocs, milk etc was a nice touch. Elaine and Ed were very welcoming, helpful and knowledgable about the area. Thanks for the directions for the walk to Bedgelert and for the tip about the route for the walk to Llyn Dinas, and especially for your kindness in sorting out the oil for our car.We really enjoyed our stay.

HI Very happy you had a great stay good luck with the 3 Peaks see you again soon Ed & Elaine

“Beautifull surroundings, with fantastic views”

Our stay in the lodge was very peaceful. We had everything we needed in the lodge. The river right outside our front door was fantastic, couldn't of asked for more. Elain and edd were very helpful,. Will definitely be visiting next year to the same lodge. Can't wait.

Once again we are very please that we were able to make our guest stay as relaxing as possible lets hope the weather is at its best next year best Wishes Elaine & Ed from snowdonia holiday lodges

“A lovely relaxing place to stay”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2015

We so very enjoyed our 3 night stay at the lodge, we've not felt so relaxed in ages! Beautiful setting on the edge of the river, which the dog thoroughly enjoyed! Miles of walks from your doorstep - just perfect. The lodge itself had everything you could ever need I think, so well thought through and well stocked. I personally loved the rustic feel of it, it was very cosy! Wonderfully hospitable and welcoming hosts, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We'll be returning as soon as possible! Paula, Andy and Murphy!

Hi It is so reasuring to hear such great comments and that we are getting things right for our guests so thank you for such brilliant comments. We would love to welcome you back and look forward to seeing you again. Dont forget the 10% discount in all of our accomadation for returing guests when booked direct. Many thanks again Ed & Elaine from snowdonia holiday lodges

“Great location and setting”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2015

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome with fresh flowers, wine and chocolate. The cabin is set in a garden on the banks of a small river - the dogs loved playing in this and it was a novelty to wake up to the sound of running water. There was everything we needed in the cabin although we did feel there was a lack of storage space , particularly in the bedroom. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to others and would stay there again if we visit the region -we would book directly with the owners, via their website. It's a really handy location for the beaches of the Lleyn peninsular and the mountains of Snowdonia.Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Thank you for such a positive review , we have taken on board the valid comments about the storage and are reviewing the storage arrangments and will adjust this as soon as possible. We would love to see you back and thank you for letting people know we have our own website. Very best wishes Elaine & Ed

“Hidden Gem of Snowdonia”

I don't know from where to start!!! Stunning place, with amazing hosts (Elaine and Ed you are just fab!) and such a beautiful surrounding. We usually travel with our dogs, this time as well. Place is dog friendly (they even make a welcome gift for dogs - treats!!), it has large garden enclosed to lodge so dogs can run free without being worried if something happen. You can do a BBQ, if you don't have you're own Elaine has a spare one just in case. Lodge is nicely furnished with fresh bedding and towels. You can always find a small treat for you! Elaine left for a us a bottle of wine, cookies and fresh milk (that's my treat). Miles and miles of walks! you can walk to center of charming Beddgelert either with road or with a nice public path going behind the village . We stayed here twice and we will for sure stay again!! Most likely July this year as Elaine and Ed are opening a new lodge!!! More luxury for more people!

Well we cant thank you enough for such a lovley review. We are always pleased to know that our guests enjoy the lodge so much including our 4 legged friends. We have hens now as well so along with the milk and wine we hope you will enjoy the fresh eggs on your next stay as well. Looking forward to seeing you agian soon best wishes Elaine & Ed

“Colwyn Lodge = a little piece of heaven on earth”

Reviewed 27 May 2015

My partner and I have stayed in many places in wales. Here was by far our favourite!! We had a friend come over last minute to join us away and they made us very comfortable and did all they could to make three of us fit into a two person cottage (we also had our american bulldog with us sooo really more like four people) They were also wonderful with our dog, checking on him when he got a bit fretful by himself. Great location, central to where we needed to be plus close to creature comforts of shops and pubs yet we felt worlds away once we closed the door behind us. The river running past was peaceful. I think the best way to compliment here is to say if I could move in there as a home I would. Couldn't ask for more! Can't wait to be able to go back :)

Hi all, as always we are so pleased when our guest enjoy their stay Especially our 4 legged ones. You will be pleased to know the second lodge will have 2 bedrooms and sofa bedroom so a little more room next time and should be in situ in the next few weeks ( plus dont forget your returning guest discount) hope to see you all back soon very best wishes Ed & Elaine

We couldn't have wished for a better location - just perfect! Appreciated the wine, milk, eggs and chocolate eggs (it was Easter) on our arrival. :-) Cooker, fridge, TV, Wi-Fi microwave, and large shower, meant we were short of nothing :-) And to top it all off the weather was just fantastic :-)

Hi Dawn it was lovley to meet you and we are so pleased you enjoyed yor stay. Since your departure we have been busy redecorating in the cabin so all nice and fresh for the summer. Will have some more eggs ready for your next visit. Very best Wishes Elaine & Ed

“Beautiful, cosy and lovely!”

Colwyn Lodge was a pleasure to stay in over the New Year. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and the location is stunning - on the banks of a wildly changeable river - storms and calm were both wonderful to wake up a few meters away from. Would recommend to anyone with an appreciation of mountains, rivers, forests, walking etc. etc. etc, as there is so much of Snowdonia to explore in every direction.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay it makes it so worth while when our guest go home with happy memories best wishes Ed & Elaine
