There is nowhere else quite like the New Forest. It is the biggest area of largely unspoilt countryside in the lowlands of Southern Britain and one of the few medieval forests remaining in Europe. It is an ancient landscape of majestic woodlands, gorse-covered heathland and boggy valleys, carefully tended by the ponies and cattle that freely graze in the open forest. It's also the latest hip staycation destination.

Beaulieu

Forest View is situated two miles from the picturesque village of Beaulieu, with other important towns of the New Forest close by - Brockenhurst (6 miles), Lymington (6 miles), Lyndhurst (9 miles). The house has direct forest access, for nature lovers wishing to enjoy walks through the forest. There are also cycle paths directly into the forest. For pub-goers, there are numerous local pubs and local beers to sample - Turfcutter Arms, East End Arms, Hobler Inn, The Ship, Montagu Arms. The local beaches offer stunning views across to the Isle of Wight - Lepe, Milford on Sea, Barton on Sea. If you're able to get a table, there are several fine dining options - The Pig, Lime Wood and Chewton Glen.

“Perfect”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

The weather wasn't great for our one week stay - but the cottage.................wonderful. Its not perfect as in 'Homes and Gardens' perfect, but if you want a holiday in a comfortable and well appointed cottage in the heart of the New Forest you could not do much better than this. My two little grandchildren (3 and 18 months) had the best time - playing in their own 'park' at the end of the garden, walking in the forest every day, seeing the donkeys and ponies. My only regret is that we couldn't stay for longer - or move in permanently. We will be back!

Thanks for your very kind comments, and so glad you and your family had a wonderful time. I completely agree that we are not Homes & Gardens, but I hope we are Homely + Wellies or something like that. Ideal for happy, family time and enjoying a bit of the great outdoors. Look forward to your return, and maybe some better weather! Many thanks indeed for taking the time to post a review.

“Comfortable House in good location”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2016

We stayed at Forest View with family and had a lovely week. The house is very spacious and in a great location. The house was very clean and linen and towels were of a high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped. Elena was very responsive and was flexible with check in time. We were a little disappointed with the garden and play area which could both do with some TLC (weeds and thistles in the play area and we had to sweep the patio) but the house was perfect for a family catch up with easy access to Lymington and other New Forest attractions.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post a review. I'm really glad that you had a good week, but sorry to hear that the garden didn't meet your expectations - I am looking at improving the gardening service at the house as a result of your comments. Many thanks for your feedback.
