Bansko ski resort is the best equipped ski resort in Bulgaria. The facilities will impress any skier who appreciates modern lifts, the latest in ski and snowboard equipment as well as low prices, especially when compared to the Alps. Lessons for the beginner or more experienced are half the price charged in the Alps.
The town offers much in the way of entertainment with plenty of traditional Bulgarian taverns known as Mehanas. These enchanting restaurants provide a strong local atmosphere as well as a wide selection of traditional Bulgarian food and wine. Many of them stage live folk music and dancing. In addition to the Mehanas there are lots of local cafes, bars and night clubs and a number of 'modern European' have recently opened around the gondola.
