“Will be returning!” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the apartment is lovely and clean, spacious, well equipt and has wonderful views of the mountains. The children enjoyed the outdoor play area, there is a lovely pool and spa, perfect for relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is perfectly situated, being a short walk to the gondola and the beautiful town where there is many traditional Bulgarian restaurants serving excellent food. Overall we had a fabulous stay and will most certainly be returning!

Let it snow!
Bansko has the best snow record of all Bulgarian ski resorts and more than 50 per cent of the slopes are covered by snow cannon. The English-speaking instructors teach all levels of difficulty so it's ideal for novices and seasoned veterans alike. Advanced skiers can try the Alberto Tomba black or even go off-piste (a guide is recommended). If you don't fancy skiing or snowboarding, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the white stuff. Snowshoeing is a great way to see the natural landscape while skating at the huge ice rink is a fun day out for the whole family.
In the summertime
From hiking in the hills to exploring historical sights, Bansko is just as appealing in summer as it is during snow season. Pack a picnic and take a hike up Vihren, the highest peak of the Pirin Mountains. The unforgettable views, fresh air and serene atmosphere will refresh and revive you. Historical highlights include the Rila Monastery in the southwestern Rila Mountains. The monastery was founded in the 10th century and it's one of Bulgaria's most important cultural, historical and architectural monuments. The state-of-the-art Bansko Museum Complex is also well worth a visit as is the Neofit Rilski House Museum, the birthplace of one of Bulgaria's great scholars.
If you prefer golf to skiing, the Pirin golf course is a great way to spend a summer's day. Or why not get your swimming kit out and head to the Alpha Spa in Dobrinishte. This open-air mineral water swimming pool is the perfect place to take a dip and cool off in warm weather. Whatever the season, Bansko is a brilliant choice if you're looking for a getaway in Bulgaria.
