LakeHaven’ is our mountain/lake home located on Monte Verde Lake with priceless and views of Wheeler Peak and the Monte Verde lake. A wonderful place year round for relaxing and enjoying your surroundings. You can indulge in summer or winter sports, hike, fish, ski, canoe, or just sit by the fireplace or out on the spacious deck and read a good book. No matter what you pick ‘Lake Haven’ is the place for enjoyment.

The large open living room has a beautiful fireplace and a large screen smart TV & open to dining area that sits 10. You view the gorgeous lake and Wheeler Peak from living area. There are 6 steps up from front door to to main floor (living/kitchen/2 bedrooms & bath)

The spacious deck off the living room has the same rare view of both Monte Verde lake and the Wheeler Peak mountain (largest in NM) where you can relax, sip coffee, hot chocolate, a cocktail or even have dinner. Often, you will see deer, elk, turkey and other wild life go by.

The kitchen is large and open and you can see all the way through to the view of mountain and lake. It is fullly stocked and has an eating area with a table that seats 6 where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. There is a child’s port a chair that attaches to a regular chair.

The dining area seats 10 and has a beautiful view.

Four of the five bedrooms have spectacular views of the Monte Verde lake and Wheeler Peak mountain.

On the main floor is the master bedroom with a king size bed. Across the hall is a small bedroom with a twin bed. There is a full bathroom with a shower located upstairs.

Downstairs has three bedrooms (the two end bedrooms have queen size beds. Each bedroom has a beautiful view of lake and mountains. With the middle bedroom having a double bed with a twin bunk on top and a spererate twin bed along with the same view of lake and mountains. Middle room also has large screen TV. Middle bedroom also has a port a crib in closet

There is a fully equipped laundry room located downstairs and a full bathroom with a tub/shower.

The garage has a ping-pong table to host some friendly competition. There are 4 bikes (5th one is owners and not for guest use) and fishing poles, and sleds (all are for use at your own risk and responsibility for damages). Four wheel drive is not needed, since we have a flat driveway & roads to the house.

There is a fire pit in the back yard away from the house with 6 adirondack deck chairs and a picnic table. The pit has a grill that fits on top and you can grill burgers or whatever there. However, please know there is absolutely no grilling or fires of any kind allowed on the patio off the living room or the area underneath that patio. It is strictly not allowed. The fire pit is the only place where a fire of any kind is allowed. It is not to be moved for any reason Sometimes there are open fire restrictions and you should always check with the fire department to find out if any restrictions are in place. PLEASE never leave your fire unattended and be sure it is out before you then area.

There are great walking paths all around our area. My favorite for a stroll is around the lake - it has a great walking path and sitting areas around the lake for enjoying the views.

Quick, easy access to everything in Angel Fire including the ski mountain is about a 5 to 10 minute drive. Monte Verde Lake is a private lake with lots of activities. For activities and fees please contact Monte Verde Lake for current fees and rules. .

The ski lift is approximately 2.5 miles away as is the grocery stores. There is a Family Dollar, Dollar Tree and Lowe’s grocery in town. There are several hiking paths in and around our area. To walk around the lake path is just over a miles walk. There are lots of sites to see and places to visit. Taos is approximately 35 mile, Eagles Nest is approx 14 miles. Cimmaron is approximately 34 miles and Red River is also about 34 miles or less. The Vietnam Memorial is something to see about 6 miles from the house. In Cimmaron there is the famous St. James Hotel (Haunted) that has a good restaurant and you can stroll the hotel and see the famous rooms that are open and read all about its history.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lori (the owner) a message.

If Lori (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
