“Absolute pleasure to stay at.” The owners are very gracious hosts and have provided an awesome studio to stay in. they have thought of everything to make your stay pleasant and relaxing. It is quiet and yet a short walk to a great sand beach. Easy to get to and from, close to everything and yet far enough away to feel like you belong there. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again and again.

“The Real Hawaii - Magical” My husband, two year old daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this cottage for a few days in February. The cottage is amazing and fully equipped. The outdoor kitchen made us feel like we were on a cooking show on The Food Network. It was stocked right down to pink Himalayan sea salt. The master bed is very comfy - resort quality sheets and linens. There is an outdoor shower which is lovely for rinsing off after the beach and an indoor bath for relaxing. The beach itself was very close - my two year old could walk there - maybe 200 ft or so. The beach has a sandy area, a grassy park and a small sandy entrance way between lava rocks to swim out to excellent snorkeling. While out swimming my husband saw pods of dolphins which frequent this bay. We also heard whales in the early morning hours. Rusty and Janice were excellent hosts and introduced us to some friends and locals, giving us a feel for the real Hawaii. Rusty gave a demonstration of opening up a coconut with a machete which was a big hit with my daughter. All in all a magical place to stay, we were just sorry we hadn't planned a longer visit.

“Kauhale apartment was just what we were looking for & more!” Kauhale apartment was perfect for our family while visiting Oahu. Our son was returning to Hawaii from deployment and we wanted a place where we could visit, relax, and do some home cooking. Kauhale was just what we were looking for and more! Patty & Bob had all the amenities we needed for a perfect beach vacation, including all the right kitchen tools for a family meal. The apartment is located in a great town with everything you need close by. We would definitely stay here on our next trip to Hawaii.

Hawaii holidays

Cascading waterfalls bubble into a clear crisp pool under the emerald forest canopy. Ribbons of black sand beaches slope into the sapphire blue ocean while the sweet hibiscus-scented air seeps into your nose. Hawaii is this and so much more. It's hiking the once-fiery volcanoes, diving crystal-clear reefs, surfing the endless waves and, of course, relaxing on the soft sand. The beauty of a Hawaiian holiday is diversity; holiday in Maui and you will experience a cushy, custom-catered holiday. Kaua'i, on the Big Island, is for outdoor enthusiasts looking for breathtaking natural scenery. Honolulu, at the foot of majestic volcanic mountains, offers some of the best Pacific Rim food to be had, making it a foodie's "paradise found."

Here are some of the top destinations in Hawaii to check out:

  • Hawai'i: If you're looking to see volcanoes in Hawaii, this is the island for you. Five active volcanoes are present on the largest island in the archipelago, including the state's most active as well as two of the largest anywhere on Earth.
  • Maui: This famous island is a taste of paradise. From the luxurious beaches to the deserted volcanic crater of Haleakala, Maui is a must-see on any Hawaiian trip.
  • Oah'u: Bustling and eclectic, Oah'u is home to Waikiki Beach, perhaps the state's single most famous and popular destination.
  • Kaua'i: The perfect place for a Hawaii wedding or a honeymoon in Hawaii, Kaua'i features unspoilt tropical beauty, outstanding scuba diving and snorkelling, and some of the finest beaches anywhere in the world.
  • Honolulu: Dynamic and diverse, Honolulu is the starting point for many Hawaiian holidays. Located on the island of Oah'u, Honolulu is a fascinating mixture of Pacific and Western cultures and still makes a great day trip, even if you're in Hawaii to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. If you're looking to cruise in Hawaii, this will most likely be your city of departure.

For your accommodations, try a holiday rental such as a condo or villa on the beach. These options offer spectacular views and more freedom and privacy than you'd get in a hotel, and come complete with all the comforts of home.

If you're looking to explore the Pacific further, Hawaii makes a great starting point for visiting other exotic and tropical locales like Tahiti, Fiji, Palau and Vanuatu. Honolulu is also only a few hours by aeroplane from major cities on the U.S. west coast.

Kaneohe Bay's Best B and B
We loved Kaneoha Bay B&B!

Beautiful place including several lanai with great views. The unit is a private wing of the owner's home with shared pool and courtyard. We had 2 bedrooms, one downstairs and one up. Very comfortable beds. Two baths. There's also a sitting room that can be made up with a single bed. Overhead fans and breezes, very comfortable! The kitchen is small but useful. There's also a washer/dryer. The owners are very helpful and generous. It was the perfect stay for us - one couple and two singles. Would definitely go again. So much to do in the Kaneoha area and the B&B is a really wonderful spot.see more

The Sweet Spot Stay: Magical Grotto House Under Giant Trees-Walk to the Beach
Just about perfect...

We stayed here to start our "hippy holiday" in Hawaii, and it was perfect for us. It took a day or two to get used to the very loud fauna at night, and the mango falling on the roof scared the living $@^% out of me the first time it happened, but once we got passed that, it couldn't have been better. The cabin was clean and well appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the internet was fast. It is set back in the jungle and very private, and waking up to a wall of windows overlooking the deep greens of the leaves and brightly coloured flowers of the surrounding flora was perfect. Note that the shower and toilet are both outside of the building, but the toilet is flush, and the shower, while feeling a bit exposed, it actually very private. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.see more

Incredible value and wonderful property owner. Must have a rental car though. The yurt had everything that we needed, and we would do it again in a heartbeat. … see more
Spacious 2 BR Beach House with King Suite
Wonderful Stay!

We loved staying on the west side of the island- it was slower paced and minimal tourists. The beach is so close (less than a minute walk) and is practically empty! We loved walking the long beach and saw so much sea life. They house was great, doors and gates were so easy to access with codes. Although we didn’t cook the kitchen seemed very well stocked. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely book here again!see more
Punaluu Beach 1bd/1ba Condo, #401
Amazing!

I booked this back in December, and was terrified of what we were walking into based on some recent reviews of other units. Let me say, we were exceptionally pleased with this unit. The owners were super responsive to all of our inquiries (which were many). The views from this corner unit were better than we could have hoped for! Even when we were inside the unit resting from multiple beach excursions, the views of the ocean remained amazing! We saw turtles every morning, and the multitude of fish on the corals were enough to keep me in the water snorkeling most days. Yes, there was construction, however it was only during the day and it was not bothersome. They have a grounds crew that cleaned the beach daily. There was not a lot of beach at high tide, but the snorkeling kept me off the beach anyway, so it was still wonderful. I did not experience any sewage or seaweed odors that other reviews complained about. We would definitely stay here again. If we could move here, we would in a heartbeat! The only downside we experienced was the lack of air conditioning, but as in other reviews, I slept on the daybed in the living room and was fine (my husband slept in the bedroom area and he didn’t have any issues). We had a rental car and would tell you to drive up to the Foodland grocery store (turn right out of parking lot and drive about 20 mins). There is a closer store, but I would not recommend it. Apparently, buses run daily, so even if you do not have a rental car you should be fine. I did not realize they have shopping carts for use at the units as well, so look for those when carrying up groceries. If you want a nice quiet, low touristy type vacation, this is the ideal place!see more
