Pen Y Bryn Farm and Holiday Cottages are located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Betws Yn Rhos, in the beautiful North Wales countryside Just 3 miles inland from the seaside and town of Abergele. With quick and easy access to North Wales Expressway A-55 taking you to Chester or Holyhead in around an hour .

Primrose Cottage is situated on over 25 acres of private land, away from the hustle and bustle of town. Pen Y Bryn is no longer a working farm, the fields are rented to a local farmer for grazing and crop growing. There are almost a mile of country paths located on the property which guests are welcome to enjoy at their leisure. Our guests are also invited to use our wildlife area where many wild animals, birds and insects can be seen all year round. Nightly, Wood Fired Eco Hot Tub Hire available - Please ask.

2, 3 and 7 night rates available. Well behaved pets welcome, additional charges apply.

North Wales has a great variety of activities to offer visitors within minutes of Primrose Cottage including outdoor activities such as climbing, walking, cycling, rafting, shooting, skiing fishing and riding. There are a number of places of historical interest located within a few minutes drive from our cottages including castles and museums, North Wales has plenty of wildlife centres, zoo's and conservation areas, indoor and outdoor craft and activity centres, shops, markets, restaurants and theatres plus miles and miles of beautiful coastline and countryside just waiting to be explored.

Primrose cottage is one of 4 holiday cottages on the property which have been tastefully converted from an original stone granary and grain store into comfortable self catering holiday accommodation, with 3 bedrooms and a family toilet and shower room. Primrose cottage has an open plan living and dining area with seating for 5.

Bed linen, towels and electricity are included for all guests and we also include crockery, cups, plates cutlery, kitchen utensils, a toaster, kettle, microwave, TV with freeview and a DVD Player.

There are a washing machine and tumble dryer on site which guests are welcome to use - coin operated. Each cottage has 1 double room, 1 twin room and 1 single room. Baby equipment i available to hire and includes Travel Cot, Bedding and Towels, potty, high chair, bath and stair gates.

Primrose cottage is located down a private drive way and has safe off road parking. Pen y Bryn farm is no longer a working farm although the fields are rented to a local farmer for grazing sheep and growing crops. We also have our own pet Sheep, Pigs and Pygmy Goats.

There are almost a mile of country paths located on the property which guests are welcome to enjoy at their leisure. Our guests are also invited to use our wildlife area and ponds where many wild animals, birds and insects can be seen all year round.

The North Wales region

North Wales is the perfect place for a family holiday, with so much to do and see you certainly wont get bored.

There are numerous outdoor activities available including Walking, Hiking, Climbing, Running, Cycling, Shooting, Riding, Golf, Fishing, Skiing, Caving and much more.

Being located in the countryside but so close to the coast North Wales also has some fantastic water based activities to offer including, water and jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing and surfing, so be sure to pack your swimsuit!

For those interested in taking things a little slower North Wales has a wealth of history connected to its castles, mountains and market towns with a number of dedicated museums and gardens just waiting to be explored as well as a number of great shopping centres, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets.

We are host to a number of art and food festivals farming shows and town fairs throughout the year.
The Welsh mountain zoo, Anglesey sea zoo, Sealife centre Rhyl and RSPB nature reserve Conwy are firm favourites with animal lovers and are all within easy reach.

The famous Mount Snowdon can be seen from our farm as it towers over Snowdonia national park. The rooftop of Wales is just a short car journey away. But don't worry if you don't fancy climbing to the top you can take advantage of the regular train service that runs right to the summit.

North Wales has a number of indoor and outdoor activity centres for big and little children alike, Swimming, Ten pin bowling, Cinema and Theatre shows are very popular all year round. The Historic town of Chester is just a short car or train journey away with a whole range of market stalls, museums and shops for you to enjoy or perhaps you would prefer a short boat ride down the river Dee? Whatever you like to do on Holiday were sure you will love doing it in North Wales.

Abergele

Primrose Cottage is perfectly positioned to enjoy a nice country walk.

Just a few minutes drive from many local castles and places of historical interest.

Abergele and Pensarn train station is just 10 minutes drive and is located on the sea front at Pensarn which is very popular with visitors to the area. There is a dedicated cycle track that runs through Abergele and Pensarn allowing you to cycle all the way over to Rhyl or Llandudno via Colwyn bay and take in the stunning coastal views. Llandudno can be reached by car in around 15 minutes, Chester and Holyhead in around an hour. We are lucky to be located on the doorstep of Snowdonia national park which offers a huge range of outdoor activities, adrenaline sports and stunning views.

A car is recommended to get around, We are around 3 miles from the nearest train station Abergele and Pensarn and about half a mile from the nearest bus stop.

Interaction with guest

We live and work on site so we can be available during your stay if you need us to help with anything. We include a welcome book with instructions of how to use everything such as the heating and cookers, connect to the internet and how to get to the local shops etc. The book also includes information on how to contact us if you need anything during your stay. We include a range of leaflets for local attractions and have a blog on our website with suggestions of places to visit during your stay. An excellent stay in beautiful accommodation. The attention to detail was second to none, even our dog was provided with biscuits on arrival. The cottage is spacious and comfortable and more importantly peaceful. We will visit again.
