Apartments in Pigna and Houses – Holiday Lettings - Holiday Rentals Pigna
Great location for relaxing or exploring the surrounding area. The apartment itself has everything you need and was clean and comfortable. Fans in the bedrooms would be the one piece of equipment that is lacking but with thick walls and correct use of the shutters when out it was not too hot at night. There is plenty of space to spread out and the balcony is lovely. I would be nervous with very young children (under 8) on the balcony but that may be me. …
The Old Mill
amazing mountain hideaway with its own stream & stunning waterfall view
The Mill is set in lovely scenery with green forest in every direction. The location between stream waterfall and forrest is unbeatable. On a clear night, the moon rises over the mountain silhouetting the pine trees along the ridge which is just breathtaking. The mill isn't completely secluded as a small lane providing access is also used by other locals... and there is some small wildlife to be aware of as you would expect in the forrest. Only negative was the lack of a bath which may be a problem for some, otherwise perfect. The owners where also very kind and easy to make arrangements with. …
wonderful little find !
A wonderful 4 storey home from home. There was everything we needed from books, dvds, games , hairdryer etc ... We had a fabulous 4 days here and felt like locals ! The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed down to making sure the heating was on when we arrived and a welcome pack . There is a fully stocked information folder which was extremely helpful and we followed directions to streams and rock pools which my son loved exploring . This is a lovely house to come and stay in whilst you explore this delightful area of Italy . Loved the local village cafes and restaurants . The little cakes were to die for ..still dream of them now !!! Would definitely come back .
Charming villa with stunning mountain views in Pigna Liguria
Ottimo! The only downside was having to leave.
I had booked our holiday almost a year in advance having seen Pigna featured on a Place in the Sun. Ian and Sue's house seemed perfect as it offered lots of indoor and outdoor space for me,my husband and two children aged 13 and 10 and was situated in the old winding streets so was central to the cafe's and restaurants but gave a real sense of going back in time as well as feeling like you lived there ( wishful thinking ! ). I was looking forward to the holiday so much I was worried it might not live up to our expectations - In fact it surpassed them and I loved everything about Pigna and the house and whilst I usually like to visit different places the only question is when we will be re booking. The information supplied by Ian and Sue beforehand and in the Villa was so helpful - my family joked with me that I was forever reading the " bible". There was so much to do and whilst we managed to visit Rock Pools ( stunning ), the beach at Menton and San Remo, Monaco and Monte Carlo and many of the picturesque neighbouring villages, experienced a festival in Pigna which my husband loved dancing at ! I feel I have to return as there is so much more to do/ see. We enjoyed the food, wine and fantastic variety of restaurants., we found the prices unbelievably reasonable unless you went to the more touristy places which is only to be expected, The local cafe Des el Roy did the most amazing pastries, cakes and coffee and Ice creams and again we couldn't believe the prices. Our children loved the holiday we all agreed it was our best yet and as I said we are already arguing about when to go back. Before booking Ian warned about booking car hire outside of the airport terminal, I stupidly booked a car with Touché based at the Park Inn hotel opposite terminal 1, our flight was 2 hours late but even so we arrived before 9pm and the desk was closed so just a warning to avoid this company, there are plenty of others at the airport. So it's just left to say a massive thank you to Ian Sue and Penny for introducing us to this lovely unspolt place and your gorgeous holiday home which offers so much more than just a holiday rental. Wine on arrival, comfy beds even medical supplies, great selection of books and DVDS if you wanted them. Thanks also to Georgia who met us and provided lots of helpful advise, she is English maintains a Birmingham accent but lives in Pigna so am very envious. I loved getting up in the morning opening the bedroom door onto the balcony and looking up at the village Castel Vittoria on the hill opposite and seeing the Sun light it up. My mornings back in Ramsbottom just don't have the same effect !! …
