LUXURY FARMHOUSE, PRIVATE POOL, Set in Olive Groves, WiFi, Amazing Tuscan Views
Amazing place to stay
We are not long back from Il Fienile and what a brilliant week we had. It is set in the most amazing hillside in a lovely little village where the residents are friendly and welcoming. Joanna, Antonio are fantastic and strike a great balance between being available for advice and making you feel that you are alone on the hilltop. We travelled with our 3 year old and this accommodation was brilliant for allowing us to have a few day trips to Florence and Pisa and half day trips to Lucca and Barga and always allowed enough time to enjoy the pool. Fantastic place to base yourself for the northern part of Tuscany especially if what you are after is enjoying the Tuscan countryside. The accommodation is lovely with brilliant views. …
Casa Kennedy, Tuscan Villa with Private Pool
Perfect escapism within in a spotless and loved bolt hole in the Tuscan Hills
Following an extremely busy time at work and wiped out by the relentless task of chasing our young twins we were looking for a break, somewhere we could get lost in our books, gorge ourselves on Italian delicacies and engage our brains in history & culture. Thankfully after a battle at car rental in Pisa airport we managed to find all this in a lovely town house in a sleepy hamlet within the Tuscan hills.
The house itself is clearly well loved and looked after. Spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed, there was not the hurried dash to the shops to buy a wine pull or sharp knife that we have experienced in previous rentals. The biggest challenges we faced were to trying to tear ourselves away from the balcony overlooking the mountains and deciding which of the bedrooms we should settle in, all were huge; all were equipped with what appeared to be brand new bedding and mattresses. We settled on the middle floor with the bedroom with another balcony allowing me to indulge in village vs mountain watching.
Despite seeking escapism we wanted to remain connected, this house was the perfect blend, at the end of the day peace and tranquillity (and did I mention the view) but within 10 minutes Bagni di Lucca with its restaurants, spa and supermarkets and with the medieval town Lucca a picturesque 35 minute drive away.
We fell in love with Lucca, biking around the tree lined city wall, dipping down into the town for food, ice cream and some very posh shops. My only advice is don’t go for a tandem, inspire romance they do not!
We look forward to going back to this house and bringing our boys back with us to enjoy the play park in the town square and outdoor pool in Bagni. We are even trying to convince our friends and family to join us as the layout would make it a great place to share. …
Casa Luciolle is a charming cottage located in a small hamlet about six kilometers north east of Bagni di Lucca with views over the hills and mountains. The cottage is clean and well equipped for your stay. If you are looking for a peaceful get away Casa Luciolle is the place to stay. Its location on Trip Advisor's map has it in the town which is not the case and you will need a car to get to the cottage's location in Pieve di Controni. …
