“I want to go back” I wanted to celebrate my 60th birthday in the land of my birth with some close friends and my stay at Casa Michele was truly magical. I loved the house from the moment I arrived; it was cozy, comfortable, had all the amenities and I felt right at home. The views from the terrace were spectacular and the tolling of the bells added a mystical feeling to the experience. There was a sense of serenity at Casa Michele that has stayed with me since I returned home. It is located in a very small village and a car is essential so you can enjoy the surrounding area. Kathy, the owner, provided a list of things to do in the area and every day my friends and I would visit a different town and try a new restaurant. If you crave a visit to a larger town you can take the train to Lucca, Florence, Pisa and others. I also loved the fact that there were few tourists so I felt as if I was a resident rather than a visitor. For me it was the perfect way to celebrate and I am already planning to return to see the places I missed the first time.
I was astonished how relaxed I felt within 24 hours - from landing at Pisa airport on Friday, arrival at house, slept so well - then next morning Saturday my girlfriend and I went to the recommend beach! which took our breath away.
Clear water and amazing food (€20 including wine) all a the beach. My mind was free from any thoughts! I actually zoned out! I am a business women (own my own business and I have 3 children) so this is extremely rare for me. Eating on the terrace was such a pleasure, red wine delicious only €3 a bottle (local shop owners recommendation) with food and cheese was so good. Sunday we rested at the house, so hot 32! blue sky, sun bathing on terrace and amazing back message in the Jacuzzi (honestly really good.) When I returned in London Monday morning I felt like I'd had a break - almost like a brain reset!
The house was Spotlessly clean and I cant wait to go back! …
18th centruy Tuscan farmhouse with swimming pool,
An AMAZING home away from home!
I've travelled to Villa Rosa on several occasions experiencing the unique environment in spring, summer and winter. It's a large, spacious and beautifully appointed house that is ideal for families and groups of friends as a base to explore amazing Tuscany and Liguria.
The contemporary decor of the house feels like it's straight out of Country Living magazine and has been renovated with a lot of care and attention taken over the details of each en suite room and the large living areas, it clearly also functions as a family home. The result is a place that invites you to relax and immediately feel comfortable and at home.
There's a large garden, beautiful large swimming pool, safely fenced off for children, games room and outdoor cooking facilities with both a BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven.
I recommend Villa Rosa for family holidays, exploring Tuscany, relaxing or for cosy winter escapes... there's a wood burning stove, and ski slopes a short drive away!
The owners provide a luxury welcome hamper and full details of the history of Villa Rosa and all of the things to do in the area. They both speak perfect English and Italian and nothing is too much trouble, they clearly love their home and want guests to feel the same way. …
Casa Michele - Even more beautiful than you can imagine!!
What an incredibly beautiful Villa. One never knows what one will get when getting properties from a website but beleive me, this one is better than the pictures. Peacful, quiet, relaxing , beutifully and tastefully decorated and the views are simply breathtaking! Though isolated from pretty much everything, the proximity to all the surrounding little towns makes things quite easy (except don't run out of milk or wine lol).
The people in the village are friendly but are few and far between...there are more cats than people I think lol
If you are looking for an amazing place to call your home base, Casa Michele is the place. If you are looking to be in the centre of all the action, this may not be your spot.
If you have difficulty with climbing stairs, getting to the Casa may be a minor issue as there is quite a steep walkway from the parking spot.
In my view, Casa Michele is a huge thumbs up …
