“Gorgeous Villa in lovely part of France” This was our second stay at this gorgeous villa and it won't be our last.
It's in the nice village in the Laungedoc region of Southern France. It's easily accessible , with five airports being between 45-90 minute drive to the villa. The villa is a top of the village and is in a quiet location with a great view of a ruined chateau .
The villa was built about 6-7 years ago and is built to good quality and a good size sleeping up to 11 people comfortably. The English owners have really furnished and equipped it well. The beds and furniture were comfortable , it's has a modern kitchen , bathrooms and wi-fi and satellite tv. You can tell the owners see this as a home rather than a cheaply put together holiday let. The outside terrace overlooks a good size private swimming pool and there is a large table for al fresco dinning. We had several BBQs whilst we were there.
There is plenty to do in the area from cycling , there are a couple of bikes available in the garage for use, to visiting vineyards ,( lots of good wine in the area) great range of restaurants from the cheap to a 2 Michelin star restaurant 10 minute drive up the road.
We visited the Cathar ruins about 45 minutes away which were very interesting and the sea is about 30 minutes away with some nice beaches and sea food restaurants . Spain is only an hour away one day we drove down to visit some great Catalan villages and beaches.
So all in all , great Villa and location. We will be back!
“A wonderful villa in a fabulous setting” The villa is really well furnished and decorated, great open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. Plenty of towels were supplied which is great help for a family who are flying (not much luggage room) The pool was great especially as the heating made sure the kids went in whatever the weather! Jeane who met us there was lovely and very helpful. Lovely welcome pack and lots of left overs such as spices and oil etc were ready for us.
Beautiful area, beautiful villa, had a great time.
“Delightful villa” We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this delightful villa. The house is light and airy, the furnishings attractive, well planned and well kept. We particularly appreciated the very comfortable beds. The kitchen, although small, is well planned and well equipped. We found everything we could possibly need and cooked in most nights, making good use of the good quality oven, hob and dishwasher. The terrace and pool were a pleasure and we loved the wide view of the surrounding countryside. Everything was very clean and the local 'manager' very helpful. We would happily visit again. The surrounding countryside is very attractive and we had some good days out to Carcassone and the coast (Collioure is particularly recommended). The few restaurants within 20 mins of the villa were very quiet when we visited.
We had a fantastic fortnight at this Villa. The furnishings were fabulous and we especially loved the swimming pool, outdoor barbecue and outside dining terraces. When we did pull ourselves away from relaxing by the pool it was not far to venture to Leucate Plage where miles of beach and the clear sea were so inviting. Sigean Safari is well worth a visit too. Narbonne and Perpignan were just a little drive away so was Lagrasse. Would definitely recommend this Villa. Our family had a truly relaxing holiday. …
Gorgeously Built Holiday Villa with Private Pool, AC, Internet and strong WiFi
A lovely relaxing location in a modern well equipped and comfortable villa.
We spent a lovely and relaxing week at this modern villa in late June. The house suited our family, with 2 grown up children, very well. It was comfortable and well equipped with lots of modern kit (and wifi) and the small pool was a treat to cool off in.
The village of Durban Corbieres is quiet but is in the scenic and historic Corbieres hills. It is well served by the local supermarket – the boulangerie ran out of bread and croissant quickly. It was a good location for us and we made some varied and delightful trips: for example to Carcassone and the Canal du Midi (hiring some bikes from Trebes was great) and down to the Pyrenees. We also loved the beach at Franqui (near Leucate) and the food at Place des Marches in Villesque de Corbieres.
There is lots to see and do in the wider area although a car is essential. …
