“something for everyone” Enjoyed an out of season golfing holiday in March with friends. The golf course was only a ten minute drive from the house. Acabanes was a good choice of holiday rental due to the extensive indoor facilities: pool table, board games, table football and the 50in plasma with hundreds of dvd's. We also enjoyed the infrared sauna and heated outdoor pool. The non golfers used the house bikes for leisurely rides and enjoyed the local wine tasting. A holiday for everyone!

“Fantastic Gite - great holiday had by us all” There was 9 of us on holiday for 2 weeks (including a 4 year old and a 1 year old). We all had a great holiday. Brian and Tracy have got the balance of being there if needed, but not intruding in any way. They are also willing to arrange wine tasting / on site chef etc if asked. There were some really nice touches for the children ie. toys and the tree house. The pool is brilliant and there is everything you could ask for in the house. The village is only a five minute walk from the accommodation and offers a couple of shops for the basics, as well as a bar which is very friendly that also offers food. Within a ten minute drive there is a large hypermarket offerering everything you will need for a self catering holiday. A car is a necessity but this enables you to visit some beautiful towns and villages in the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend this Gite and we are likely to be re-booking for another year - Thank you Brian and Tracy for helping us have a great holiday. Chris

“A dream of a holiday home!” An absolutely fantastic house with everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday and more. The rooms are large, the bathrooms plentiful and the furniture is so tasteful. It was spotless and well equipped. The pool was a Godsend as the weather was beautiful. It is secluded and has plenty of seats, tables and sunbeds. The house was well situated to visit vineyards, a lake with manmade beach, interesting towns such as St Emillion and Bergerac and a number of reasonable restaurants recommended by the helpful owners who were there if you needed them but not intrusive. The village housed a friendly bar and hotel and held a special night in the village square during the Summer. It also had a bakery, shop, pharmacy doctors etc. I would recommend this beautiful house to anyone; couples, families etc.

“Magical property, totally amazing views. Loved everything about it!” We rented this property as a group of three families (16 of us in all!) & from the moment we arrived we could not have felt more at home! The house itself is simply stunning and has been renovated/re-decorated beautifully. It was spacious and very clean. All of the guest rooms were a delight and the added touches of iPod doc's & universal phone chargers in each room were brilliant. We stayed for 3 weeks and the first couple of days the weather was a bit miserable but none of us had ever been to a house that provided so much in house entertainment!!! There were 9 children in our party and there were so many cupboards stuffed full with boardgames/toys/jigsaws etc that our little ones were always happy!!! The outside dining areas were well thought out and as there were several we got into a routine of breakfast at one, lunch at another and then, depending on the heat, dinner at a third!! Obviously, the pool was a hit with all of our children & the views are breathtaking. One of the most amazing things about this property is it's location. With all of us coping with busy lives and living on main roads!!! The quietness was total bliss! Maybe upto 5 cars driving passed (on a busy day!) We just loved being away from everything and therefore totally relaxing. This is the perfect property to just kick back and relax! We ate (too much!), drank (far too much!!) and possibly relaxed more than ever before on a rental holiday. We would definately recommend La coutancie and will be hoping to return again in the next few years! Also, a thanks to Robert for all his assistance and efficiency with booking/paying and for proving us with so much local information, it was very much appreciated. “Heaven is a place in France” We are a family of 27, ages ranging from 2 years to 55 years with several teenagers inbetween. Le Grands Chenes is perched in amongst the most beautiful coutryside, lush, green and with views to die for, it couldn't possibly have been a better 'fit' for our family. Room after beautiful room, full of homeliness, charm and character and fully equipped with everything you could need to make a self-catering holiday work easily. The large pool (which believe me can take 26!, the jacuzzi, sauna, bikes, table tennis tables and volleyball net, ride on toys, pool toys, not to mention a large flat area at the front of the villa to play football (a must for our boys) mean't that there was not a single moment when we weren't all fully entertained. The local area is teeming with things to do, go-karts, canoeing down the Dordogne plus a most beautiful riding school at the end of your drive all at prices which pleased and surprised us. Bergerac is a ten minute drive and is just what you hope to find in a French town, full of quaint old buildings, fabulous street cafe's to eat and drink in and an ice-cream parlour which no less that 60 different flavours. Without exception every member of our family would not hesitate to recommend Les Grands Chenes, we would like to have booked for the same time next year but alas and not surprisingly August is fully booked. We will be back again.

“Perfect vacation rental” We stayed at La Maison Breuil for a week in June. The house is beautiful and fully equipped with everything you might need. There is a large Carrefour supermarket in Sarlat where we bought everything that we needed. We drove to the different villages during the day- most within 10 minutes drive. We also went canoeing down the Dordogne for 3 hours. In the evenings we could walk to town to have dinner in one of the many lovely restaurants. Our teenage boys enjoyed the Dordogne area very much with all the activities available and also enjoyed the pool at the property. The free wi-fi was also great to keep them busy on their iPods. I can recommend this property without any reservations. The house is comfortable and well decorated for a family of four. The booking process was easy and I contacted Paula with a few other questions that she helped me with. We will definitely try to return to this house and the Dordogne region in the future.
