“such a relaxing experience helped by the generosity of Guiseppe'” Fortunately the 2 of us had good weather, all important in properties with hot climates. The comfortable villa was sited way up a mountain/very large hill! which meant a car was essential + there is no way to walk down to Scopello. The huge outside space had lots of equipment and was excellent for eating out/barbeques/sunbathing. The panoramic view was absolutely glorious and overlooked 180 degree view of the gulf. Guiseppe the owner is a lovely man. On arrival we followed him in his car and he gave us a brief tour so we could orientate ourselves and once in the villa he explained all the amenities and foibles of his house. He also brought large quantities of tasty cooked food + delicious cakes which lasted us for 3 main meals.

Villa Acquamarina
A room with a view !

The first thing we enjoy when arriving at Villa Acquamarina is the view ! On one side, the see and part of Castellamare golfo. On the other side the mounts of the Zingaro reserve. Then the beautiful garden. The house stands among tropical plants, pine trees and flowers. How can a garden be so beautiful without rain ? The place is of course very quiet ! No traffic noise, except perhaps the boats going to the reserve… The house is very well equipped and very easy to keep clean. Beds are comfortable. We are a french family with our daughters aged 16 and 14. The covered terrace facing the see is enjoyable at any time of the day. There is a very nice little beach 5 minutes’ walk from the house (a bit difficult for the return : you have to climb up the hill !). But it is cleaned and not crowded like the public beaches. Don’t forget special shoes for the pebbles ! The position in the region is very central and the major places of interest are reachable by car very easily. Don’t miss Segeste and Selinunte, especially by the end of the afternoon. And of course Erice, the medieval city ! We have been a bit disappointed by Scopello village. Parking cost is 3€ no matter how long you stay ! Same for the Tonnara : 3€ per person ! Go to Mazzara del Valo for the narrow streets decorated with ceramics. If you have the opportunity to visit Palermo and its wonderful churches, old palaces and popular market, go to Pasticceria Costa. Michele, the owner of villa Acquamarina, has warmly recommended it. Although it is located a bit away from the city center, it is really worth it, especially for the Martonara fruits… Talking about Michele, I would like to mention he is a very nice person. He is patient and answers all the questions before booking ! Same for Graziella and Pepe who were there to welcome us, in Italian ! As it was my first experience with booking through a private owner i wasa bit concernedI I have to say: i t has been a great opportunity not only to visit a beautiful place but also to meet some very nice people: the owner and his family. The apartment exceeded our expectation and the hospitality of Mr Pisciotta's family made us feel like we never left home! Lovely apartments in a great location

We stayed at Lemon&Orange for a short stay in Castellammare and wished we had more time to spend there! The flats are new, comfortable and spotless, equipped with all you could need and furnished with exquisite attention to details. A modern design throughout and yet a traditional Sicilian vibe thanks to the bright colours and central location - plus, the upper flats benefit from a wonderful view over the city and the sea. The owner, Adriana, is very friendly and helpful; she also suggested us a quirky restaurant to have dinner at, which was a brilliant recommendation.
