About the home

Vila Margarida is a real taste of luxury. Not only does it have its own private heated pool and hard surface tennis court it has wonderful gardens and lovely airy spacious accommodation. The villa has 5 bedrooms, 3 double, 2 with en-suite and two twin, all but one double on the ground floor. 3 of the rooms have French doors opening onto the pool terrace.

The gardens are large and mature giving a very tranquil and peaceful feel to a visit to Vila Margarida and affording a high level of privacy to guests there.The pool area is sunny and very private and has a wonderful poolside cabana for shade and cool on even the hottest days.

Upstairs there is a large lounge and separate dining room both opening onto a huge sea-facing terrace with 2 large dining tables, one covered and the other open to the sky. The whole terrace and the living rooms behind have spectacular views of the sea and cliffs overlooking Luz Bay.The lounge also has sat TV,video,DVD,CD/radio/casette. There is also a large kitchen with dishwasher and an upstairs cloakroom.Vila Margarida has maid service three times a week..

Outside next to the pool is a splenid, bar/BBQ/outdoor kitchen with sink with hot and cold water, fridge with small freezer, BBQ and 2 ring gas hob. Ideal for outdoor living and dining.

The pool is approx 10x5m with steps in at a Roman end. the pool heating is optional and available at an additional cost of £100 per week if wanted.
The tennis court is a hard surface court, fully fenced and faces North South to avoid the glare of the early morning or evening sun.

Conditions

A refundable breakage deposit of £300 is required.
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the rental amount is payable at booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before the start of the rental.

The Algarve benefits from a wonderful climate being hot and sunny throughout the majority of the spring, summer and autumns, but retaining a cooling breeze from the Atlantic. In winter it is generally a good deal warmer than the UK and can be positively hot by our standards, but can get quite chilly, particularly in the evenings.

The Praia da Luz area

Praia da Luz is a lovely family resort and the beach at Luz along with many bars,restaurants and shops are an 8 minute walk or less. The beach is long and sandy and ideal for families and backed by a lovely tree lined prom, great for an afternoon stroll and a drink at a beach bar! All the bars and restaurants are family friendly and you can take your pick from casual relaxed beach bars through bistros to more formal fine dining.The historic town of Lagos, a 10 minute drive away, has numerous restaurants, a beautiful marina, nightlife and historic ruins. It is also a lovely place for an evening stroll around the bustling streets with street entertainers, atrists and vendors.
If you choose to hire a car there are numerous places of interest within a 30 minute drive, castles, water parks and zoos, forts, marinas etc

The closest airport is Faro, just a 70 minute drive away, mainly on motorway. Several budget airlines fly there from numerous UK airports, eg. Easyjet,BMI baby, Monarch, My Travel Lite.
Lisbon airport is a longer drive, approx 3-4 hours again mainly motorway driving.
We can either arrange good quality, low cost car hire for you or arrange taxi or mini-bus transfer from Faro airport.Full directions and a map of Praia da Luz will be sent to all guests before the start of their holiday.
