The Island of Gozo region

Gozo, the northermost island of the Maltese archipealago measures only 11km x 7 km and is fast becoming a wine and olive producing region.

Tradition is kept alive in this fishing and farming island offering the beauty of uspoilt life. The beauty of Gozo lies in the natural serenity and beauty of the landscape, Nature lovers and sub-aqua enthusiasts are in for a real treat. Enchanting landscapes, wonderful golden sands, rocky beaches, fascinating inlets and sheltered bays, hills and valleys help to give the island a personality of its own. Gozo is full of historical sites and places connected to its past . Churches, towers, fortifications and chapels are all well worth viewing. The Ggantija Neolitic temples are said to be the oldest free standing monuments in the world - even older than the pyramids of Egypt.

Victoria is the capital city of Gozo with its street Cafes and a daily market place. It also houses the local courts and Catholic Cathedral. The pace of life on this island is slower than that of its sister island of Malta. It offers endless tourist attractions, sports possibilities and some of the Mediterranean's best dive sites. With temperatures ranging from 15degrees C in winter to 32 degrees C in summer, it is the perfect place to unwind even in the off peak season when temperatures are still warm. The many restaurants scattered all over the island enable a taste of local and international cuisine which will surely help to make anyone's stay a memorable one.

Nadur area

Nadur, the largest village in Gozo is only 5 minutes away from Mgarr Harbour and the capital city of Victoria. It is situated on top of a hill with spectacular sea and valley views. The beautiful church dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul is found in the main square where one also finds all emenities including shops, winebars, restaurants, the bank, pharmacy and the police station. Nadur centre is only 5 minutes away from the farmhouse by car. June, July and August are the festive seasons in Gozo and these are highlighted by outdoor activities in the form of band marches and spectacular fireworks. Nadur was World Carnival City in 2005 and is renowned for its spontaneous carnival which takes place in the streets of Nadur in February. Streets in Nadur Centre are alive with bands and music around every corner, stalls selling food and drink. It is the type of carnival unlike anything you have seen before and defies the official definition of a standardised carnival. Christmas and Easter are also celebrated with great enthusiasm and the decor of the houses, streets and churches at this time of year is not to be missed.

How to get there

FROM YOUR HOME TO RAZZETT SAN BLAS

Fly to Malta International Airport . Time from Gatwick - 3 1/2 hours.

Transfers from airport directly to farmhouse may be arranged upon request - please ask owner for prices.

Alternitively - Taxi or car hire from airport or Direct 20 minute shuttle service to Cirkewwa where a ferry which operates continuously takes you for a 20 minute ride directly to Mgarr Harbour in Gozo, passing the island of Comino and the beautiful Blue Lagoon on the way.

Farmhouse is located 5 minutes by car from Mgarr Harbour.

Most European airlines including Air Malta, British Airways and also Ryan Air fly to Malta. All the major car hire companies are established in Malta and Gozo.

Great care has been taken by the owners to give this charming farmhouse a very welcome and homely feeling where one can quickly unwind. Balconies and terraces from all 3 double bedrooms overlook pool, country , valley and sea views which on a clear day may extend as far as Sicily. The comfortable lounge is equipped with cable T.V. and a stone log fireplace ideal for the winter months. A large bright and airy kitchen, living and dining area overlook the outdoor swimming pool area with ample outdoor space for dining and relaxation all year long and especially in the warm summer months where there is always a breeze from the valley. A large Jacuzzi bathroom, 2 shower rooms and outdoor shower further complement this property.

Conditions

A refundable £150 breakages deposit will be charged upon confirmation of booking. This will be refunded within 2 weeks after satisfactory property inspection.

On receipt of deposit we will confirm the reservation. Rental price is payable preferably by bank transfer at least 2 weeks prior to arrival (not applicable for last minute bookings). Should this not be feasible, kindly contact owner for alternative payment arrangements.
