From the terrace you may view the entire gulf of Milazzo and the Aeolian Islands which are rather close to the mainland; the terrace is as well a marvelous place where to enjoy a candlelit dinner. The villa is surrounded by a spectacular garden full of ancient trees, it is very shady and cool also in summer. The area is quiet and calm, the ideal place to spend a holiday completely relaxed. The kitchen, although modest, is fully equipped. The garden that surrounds the house is well kept and it is very pleasant to spend there most of the day. The Sicily region
It is the biggest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is the most southern of the Italian regions and it is located between the south western tip of the Italian peninsula and the northern coast of Africa, in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. It can be recognised by its triangular shape.
Fantastic all year round climate. In summer enjoy daily temperatures in the 30's (70's and 80's Fahrenheit). It does get cooler in the winter but doesn't normally go below 15 Celsius. The climate in Sicily is great.
Being in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily has been invaded, during the last 4,000 years by many populations from different parts of Europe (Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Norman, Germans, French Spanish and others). Thus, there are swarthy people with dark eyes and dark hair or with blue or green eyes and fair hair and skin and even some red haired people.
There are many great attractions in Sicily including the Etna, Aeolian Islands, Taormina and many archaeological sites in Agrigento, Siracusa, Piazza Armerina.
The promontory of Capo Milazzo is rich in vegetation and very well kept. There are a few small beaches that can be reached through some not very difficult paths, but they are worth the effort. The view from the terrace of the old light-house is superb. You shouldn’t miss a visit to the lakes of Tindari, the beaches of Gioiosa Marea and the Aeolian Islands that you can reach in half an hour by hydrofoil. Rather close are also Mount Etna, the Alcantara Gorges, Taormina, the Natural Park of the Nebrodi Mountains and Santo Stefano di Camastra. On the promontory stands the ancient fishermen district of Milazzo, during summer tha place becomes crowded with tourists, on the other side of town, before the new harbour, is the old fishermen port where quite often are the stands that sell local fresh fish.
