Quiet paradise by the sea

One of the rare cases when what you see is what you get, all photos show the real conditions and when you start living at this place you love it more every day. Perfect arrangement, you can stay on the terrace, go on the beach without all the gear, because you can go into your own shower straight from your swim. Perfect for a family with a small child. I loved the outdoor shower under the stairs. We were always able to keep things clean and organized, like at home. But the biggest advantage for people who like staying away from the crowds is the tranquillity of this place with waves creating a nice lullaby in the evening. The small town has got a supermarket with all basic food, so once inside this pretty flat you can stay there and enjoy your special days. B & B Sempreverde, an ecological home: the experience of living natural materials
We really loved this gorgeous guest house!

This is a lovely house in an excellent location, one road back from the beach. Sempreverde is a beautifully designed and imaginative enterprise, and the family who run it are charming and the perfect mix of friendly and professional. As many other reviews have said, the home-made breakfasts on the roof are a highspot - delectable cake, fresh breads, almonds, home-made jams .... and all in the company of other friendly guests. Our bedroom was simple but well-appointed and cool (very necessary in the Sicilian heat of July) with a bathroom that is perfect for a beach holiday - big walk-in shower, big basin for washing out swimsuits! Punta Secca itself is small, very relaxed, and very pretty, with an excellent beach. We thoroughly recommend Sempreverde and were truly sad to leave. Thank you for everything! … see more

In the heart of Scicli

The apartment is in the ground floor of a corner house in the centre of Scicli, and while cars can come either way past the front door, they have to be small cars, and be ready to back up if someone comes the other way. The easiest place to park is Corso Umberto 1. There were all the things we needed to sleep and wash and do a little basic cooking. It was just right for two people. The owner was lovely and very helpful, sending emails and letting us know what rubbish is collected on which day. Everything was clean, tidy and stored logically. Check out the dish with the business cards in it - some have a discount on offer for certain restaurants in town. Being right in the centre of the town meant that it was easy to walk to find somewhere nice to eat and drink, and join in with the life of the town. It can get a bit noisy, but the windows and doors of the apartment blocked it out. There is a medical centre over the street from the apartment, so sometimes we found people sitting on the steps outside the door, or parking mobility scooters there. They were very good and moved over when we needed to get in and out of the apartment, and were not an issue. There are plenty of shops close by to get the essentials in. The nearest beach is about six miles away; I think you really do need a car to explore them properly, though having a car we didn't really get to find out about bus or train services. Whether you go to Sampieri, Marina di Ragusa, Marina di Modica, Punta Secca - they are all nice. There are bus services to get to Modica or Ragusa and some train services (which we didn't get to explore) from Scicli. … see more

Idyllic Holiday Accommodation

Perfect holiday rental in well kept grounds. We were welcomed by Daniela, Maria and Salvatore who had provided all essential provisions for our first day - milk, coffee, sugar, bread, butter, fruit juice, water plus a number of extras. Cleaning items also provided. Salvatore showed us around the property which was spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. TV in every room. Efficient cooker, washing machine, air conditioning. Plenty of hot water. Good internet connection. Ideal pool with plenty of sunbeds plus other garden furniture. Car would be needed unless you wish to crash out for a week which would certainly be an option. We visited Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla (10 minutes drive). We also explored Donnlucata, Scoglitti and Punta Secca (saw Montalbano's house) all of which have lovely beaches and numerous ice cream parlours and restaurants. Understand Sampieri is also worth a visit but we ran out of time. Gather Scilians do not use kettles and didn't see much evidence of regular tea drinking. We were provided with two coffee makers.
