The Yorkshire region

The village of Low Row is in the very heart of Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. Swaledale; beautiful, rugged, unspoilt is the perfect place for a 'get-away-from-it-all' holiday. Loved by walkers and cyclist (The Tour de France Grand Depart passes through Low Row in July 2014) there a multitude of bridleways and footpaths to explore including the Coast to Coast path. Reeth, often described as the gateway to the dales, is 5 minutes away and here you will find a good selection of pubs, cafes, gift shops, Post Office, The Dales Museum and Hudson House Information Centre. Travel west to the very top of Swaledale to the tiny hamlet of Keld or venture south over the Buttertubs pass into Wensleydale to visit Hawes where real Wensleydale cheese is made.

Low Row

A holiday in Swaledale doesn't have to be limited to walking alone. There is so much to do and see in the immediate area. The Forbidden Corner in Middleham is a must for families, The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle is a 30 minute drive away, The World of James Herriot in Thirsk will be definitely on the list of all James Herriot fans however the 'watersplash' featured in the opening credits of the BBC series All Creatures Great and Small is a mere 10 minute drive from Hillcrest! The list is never ending - come to Hillcrest and see for yourself.
