Ty Adeiladwr Cwch (the Boat Builder's house) is a perfect blend of a traditional 200 year old Welsh cottage with a brand new spacious extension. It is located in Llanddona, a quiet village with traditional local pub on the headland of Red Wharf Bay only a few miles from the picture-postcard coastal town of Beaumaris. The vast sandy LLanddona beach is only 10 minutes drive away (or 20 mins walk down a steep hill) and is popular for familes, as well as kite-surfers- when the wind is in the right direction!
The house has ample gardens to the front, rear and side, giving plenty of scope for hide and seek, or to enjoy a relaxing drink on the front lawn admiring the view. There are stunning views of the Snowdonia mountain range, from the front lawn and windows, beautifully captured through the Fench windows of the upstairs lounge and master bedroom. Downstairs in the old cottage is the Lamp-room, a cosy lounge with wood-burning stove to curl up with a book or film, or if you are feeling like a bit more activity there is a games room with a pool table.
Layout is kitchen/dining room, lounge, games room, utility room, shower room, hall and porch downstairs. The recently refurbished spacious kitchen-dinner has a brand new range-style cooker and new fridge with patio doors onto the front garden. Family bedroom (double plus bunk beds), double bedroom, twin bedroom, double bedroom with en suite, family bathroom and additional lounge (with double sofabed) upstairs. Upstairs lounge and master bedroom have vaulted ceilings and French windows. The large porch at the entrance has full size glass windows on two sides and doubles as a garden room to relax with your morning coffee. There are two dining tables - one in the dining/kitchen that seats twelve and another in smaller table in the large hall.
Please note that besides the ample gardens surrounding the cottage, there is a caravan beyond the side garden in a large plot of additional garden land. (It is seperated from the side-garden by a row of mature trees.) This is not let commercially so is only occasionally in use by the owners and family. Feel free to use this extra garden space, which includes a large netted trampoline, when the caravan is unoccupied, and to access the trampoline at all reasonable times. The gardens at rear and front of the property and side up to the end of the wooded area are solely for the house guests.
A cot can be provided for young guests. We will try our best to accomodate any additional requests.
There is plenty of room to park at least four cars - additional parking may be available on request.

The North Wales region
The Isle of Anglesey in North Wales is a hop across one of the two bridges from the university city of Bangor and boasts over 100 miles of spectacular coastline, within an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is easily accessible by road and rail or ferries to Holyhead (from Ireland). Recently home to the young royals Prince William and Kate, Anglesey has something to offer for everyone - from family holidays on the many beaches, watersports, fishing, horse riding and castles to the Sea zoo and racetrack. There are many small coves and areas to be explored, where you can get away from the beaten track, or you can join in with local activities and festivals.
The property is in a quiet village, Llanddona, on the headland of Red Wharf Bay. There is an excellent pub literally a few minutes walk from the house where food and drink can be enjoyed. They host events including the annual beer festival and weekly fish and chip night! The village also has riding stables - let the owners know if you need further details as it is tucked away down a side-road.
Llanddona beach is down a steep hill about 20 minutes walk/5-10 mins drive away. It is an enormous, picturesque sandy beach that is part the large Red Wharf Bay area and is popular with families, as well as for watersports, especially kite-surfing, wind-surfing, kite buggying and land-sailing. There is a small cafe selling drinks, ice-creams etc and toilet faclities. There are many other coves and coastal paths to be explored nearby.
The nearest town from Llanddona is Beaumaris, a picture-postcard town on the Menai Straits (the stretch of water between Anglesey and the mainland), with an impressive castle, harbour, pier, shops, bars, restaurants and pastel-coloured houses. Crab fishing is very popular on the local pier and the Italian style ice-cream shop must be sampled! There is a bus service to Beaumaris and to the city of Bangor from Llanddona or local taxis are available.
Bangor is only about about 15 mins drive from Llanddona for a wider variety of shops and facilities and the Snowdonia mountain range -popular for hiking, bike-riding, kayaking, white-water rafting, amazing scenery and the mountain railiway up Snowdon - is about 30 mins drive.

"Lovely large house with every "home comfort" and beautiful views."
We had a great holiday here - the house was very clean and obviously cared for. The kitchen adn utility room provided for every need - massive oven, dishwasher, washing machines and tumble drier. The owners have helpfully collected brochures of places to go and a list of restaurants and also provide a good variety of board games. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

"Nice and spacious for two families"
Had a great stay at Easter, Shame about the weather though ! Clean and spacious house. Ideal for two families of 4 with teenagers. Cooking facilities are fine with plenty of saucepans and tins etc like home from home really. The little blue sign on the floor when you arrive at the house is hard to see when you first arrive, but once you know its all good.

"Great Holiday Cottage with Loads of Accommodation and Fantastic Views"
We shared this cottage with a group friends with children over New Year 2013/14 and had a great time. There is lots of rooms for the various age groups to spread out throughout the house. The views across to Snowdonia are magnificent. There are some great walks from the cottage and Red Wharf Bay is only a short drive away. Will definitely rent again.

"Wonderful place for a group of friends to get together"
We had a wonderful weekend away, along with a few other families. The house was really spacious. Lots of bedrooms. Never felt like you were on top of each other. We all managed to eat round the large table in the kitchen, as well as outside enjoying the sunshine. Plus we all enjoyed the evening pool contests in the games room. The house has great character. The beaches nearby were fantastic. Great dog walking and lots for the kids to do. It was a super weekend getaway.

"Beautiful, homely cottage, well equiped with stunning views of the Snowdon range."
Another visit to Ty Adeiladwr Cwch - this time with our family. The cottage is lovely, well equipped, very clean and spacious. Two lounges gave us the opportunity to have our own space and the laundry was handy with young children. Enjoy cooking and love the "range" and island unit . Great walking on the nearby Anglesey coastal path. Most of all love sitting in the garden with a glass of wine looking at the mountains. Very peaceful. The local beach was also good for fishing (need more practice!). A great holiday. Do have a cream tea at the end of Bangor Pier.

"Luxury, well-equipped cottage, astounding views, lovely lounge."
We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. A very quiet and beautiful sand and pebble beach is just a stone's throw away. A stunning view awaits you as you wake in the morning in the master bedroom or sip a drink in the spacious and modern upstairs lounge. The kitchen is large, clean and well-equipped. There is a games room as well. You will not be disappointed with this cottage.

"Fantastic family reunion in an beautiful relaxing cottage with stunning views!"
We stayed at Ty Adeiladwr Cwch for a family reunion. We had an absolutely fantastic time. All of us commented on how relaxing the break was. We had a lovely, but difficult walk to the local beach ( very steep on way back, with 3 babies in pushchairs....beats a gym workout!! Although we could of driven! ) the beach was lovely, with a friendly gentleman on patrol in the dog free area, so nice and clean. The house its self was well kitted out with everything you could need, the washing machine and dryer was a god send due to the babies!!! The children loved the trampoline. Once the little ones were in bed, the men loved the large kitchen table to play cards around, whilst us ladies retired to the upstairs lounge to enjoy a glass of wine and the most amazingly stunning views of the Snowdonia mountain range! Correspondence with the owner was excellent, which made the booking a doddle. We also received excellent instructions on how to find the house, along with everything else we could possibly want. In all, a lovely house within a lovely setting to both relax and explore, and which we would definitely like to return to.
