Lagos / Meia Praia area
Lagos has an intriguing blend of the old and the new. The area's favorable weather, great food and many attractions make this a perfect vacation destination! The apt is just a short walk from the Algarve's beautiful Meia Praia beach. Smaller beaches such as Praia D'Ana with its picturesque coves and the Lagos Marina with numerous cafes/restaurants are also walking distance.
The historic Lagos town centre (just across the Marina foot bridge) offers historic tours, shopping, and restaurants. In the evening, the centre's cobble-stone streets come alive with colourful street entertainers, shops/stalls and talented artists. Night clubs and bars are open late.
Activities in the area include golf, sailing, jet/water skiing, fishing, wind surfing, para-sailing, boat tours, water theme parks and coastal drives. Other Algarve destinations such as Portimao, Albufeira and Vila Moura (with a casino) are a short drive or train ride away.
How to get there
Almost every low-cost and major airlines, like British Airways, TAP, Ryanair, Easyjet, Monarch, etc, fly from the UK to Faro and Lisbon all-year round!
Major car hire companies(hertz, avis, etc) are also in the airports and everywhere in Algarve and Lisbon!
It's best to rent a car in Faro (or Lisbon) and drive to Lagos, around 40/50 min drive! Go towards Albufeira, Portimão, Lagos and once in Lagos look for the Marina or Meia-Praia and you'll get there easily!
