"Perfect cottage near Kenmare"

Can't imagine a better place to stay near Ring of Kerry and Ring of Beara. We stayed for five nights and had a really nice experience.

Fuchsia Cottage is modern yet cozy with a nice atmosphere, great views of the Kenmare "river"/Iveragh peninsula, and nicely landscaped grounds. It is about a mile outside of Kenmare, convenient to shopping/restaurants, but very quiet. Kitchen facilities were great. Two bedrooms upstairs and one down--more than enough for the two of us. Wireless internet worked very well. Their website,, has a lot of info, pictures, and a virtual walkthrough.

When we arrived there was a welcome basket with homemade brown soda bread (best we had in Ireland), bottle of wine, apples, milk and butter, as well as firewood by the fireplace in the living room. Later that day, Maria came by and gave us a couple of fresh mackerel they had caught that afternoon. Maria and Joop live next door, and could not have been more gracious and helpful--available, but not intrusive.

We just returned from our trip. Ireland is a great place to visit in general, and Fuchsia Cottage was especially pleasant. Thanks to Maria and Joop for a wonderful stay--highly recommended.

"The perfect location for exploring SW Ireland"

The cottage was as charming as it looks in the pictures. The view from the dining table never got old. The Duyn's were wonderful hosts; making sure we were familiar with the appliances and fireplace, keeping us stocked with firewood and baked goods, and offering advice on the many restaurants/pubs in in town.

"Really cosy home, best equipped, very nice proprietors"

Fuchsia Cottage was a very nice and cosy home for our two weeks stay. The landscape of Beara and Iveragh is just breathtaking. Kenmare is nearby, next pub just down the road.
There is a magnificent view on Kenmare bay from the gardens. The house is the best equipped and cleanest we ever had. There is really everything you might need during your stay. Everything ist set up with love and care. The proprietor live next door and are very helpful and friendly.
Thanks for this lovely stay :-) We'd like to come back
