The town house "Palazzo Francesca" is one of the very special, rare and typical Sicilian town houses in the "heart" of Taormina old town. In cooperation with the Paradise Beach Club our guests have access to their beach and pool area (at extra charge).

The town house is situated in a privileged and centrical position of the historical center of Taormina, just 1 walking minute distant from the "Corso Umberto" which is main shopping and restaurant area, the Piazza IX Aprile, the Villa Comunale and the Greek Theater.

So all sites, monuments, restaurant, bars or night life can be reached within a few steps. Most of the best restaurants of Taormina arte just around the corner.

Parking is possible in a public car park close by (200 meters distant).

The house extends on 4 floors and provides a small roof terrace with spectacular views towards the picturesque city of Taormina , the Greek Theatre and Mount Etna.

Each room has been decorated with lots of care and love for details. The furnishing is complete and of high standard.

Spending time in the living on the 4 th floor or on the small roof terrace is special experience. From here you will enjoy fantastic views over the roofs and the small streets of Taormina. The sunset above the vulcano Etna is an unforgettable experience.

The equipment and furnishing come up to high expectations on quality and taste. The equipment is a mix of modern Italian design and antique French and Sicilian furniture. The tasteful room design is underlined by a special selection of art pictures and lamps made of real Murano glass.

All the rooms are equipped with an efficient air condition system offering pleasant cool temperature in the summer and cosy warmth in winter time.

The privileged situation and the special equipment of this accommodation invites you to experience and enjoy Taormina in a unique way.

In 2015 this building had been fully renovated and modernized. The floors and stairs on the interior have been restored in the typical Sicilian red-brown marble.

The two sofas of the living room (80 cm x 230 cm) may get transformed into two comfortable single sleeping sofas

5th floor: small roof terrace, views on Taormina old town, Madonna di Rocca and side views on Mt Etna of Etna and Teatro Greco (Greek Theatre).

The bath rooms are designed of bright Botticino marble or hand-painted Sicilian tiles while the floors is covered with the typical dark brown "Marmo di Taormina".

Dear Anna, I am very happy that you enjoyed staying in my house! Thank you very much for posting such a detailed review. For guests who have not been in Taormina so far I'd like to post some additional information. My house is located in the very best area of the „historic city center of Taormina“. The historic city center of Taormina is where all the sights , restaurants, bars, night life. etc are located and from my house everything can be reached within a very short walk. Most guests don't know that the historic city center of Taormina is located „on the hill“ and getting to the beach needs a vehicle and takes some time. One can also rent an accommodation at the beach but than a vehicle is needed to get up to the historic city center of Taormina which from my point of view is not a good choice, as there is „no convenient or cheap parking“ available in historic city center of Taormina. Beaches: There are different beaches around and the usage of a beach (with umbrellas and sunlounger) is always at charge . To get to any of the the beaches you need to use either „the public bus“ or the funicular which both is uncomfortable and of course is not free of charge. To offer our guests a more exclusive and comfortable way to get to the beach and have access to the most beautyfull beach club „our guests“ can access the Paradise Beach club. A modern, air conditioned private run bus gets our guests to the beach club . The bus stop is just 50 meters distant from my house. To make sure our guests have a seat secured one needs to book the ride one day ahead which makes sense to avoid waiting in the bright sun for the next departure. The alternative for people who have no access to the Paradise beach club is to go to any other beach and use the „public bus“ which is not free of charge, is not air conditioned and if the bus is crowded they have to wait for the next bus which passes by after 60 + minutes. Besides the bus stop of the public bus or the funicular is located outside the historic city center, which means it is much more distant than 50 meters no matter where the accommodation is located in Taormina . Usage of beaches: There are two types of beaches in Taormina. The free of charge beaches where no services like umbrellas, restaurant, toilette etc are provided and the beaches where one can rent umbrellas, sunloungers and use various services. This typ of beach is the majority and of course it is at charge. The average cost per person is € 15 per day. I would like to emphasize, that „no other beach club“ offers a „beach front pool area“, a marvelous small park area with large trees, shade and sunloungers to relax, free WiFi, free umbrellas and sunloungers and a free of charge bus ride in an air conditioned bus. Considering the entrance fee of € 12,50 vs. € 15 (of regular beach clubs) shows that one gets much more service and comfort for less money than in any other place. Besides the bus stops right in front of the beach club and no 100 + stairs need to get climbed to reach the beach (i.e. Isola Bella). Yes it is true, that the water pressure may be weak once and a while. This however is due to the water supply company which provides the water and causes the water pressure. Taormina is located in Sicily which is an area with lacks in provision of water and water pressure may vary due to availability and number of people using water. But this effects all households in the same means. Self-catering: The house offers sufficient plates, pots and pans as well as cutlery for more than 6 people. As I stay in the house myself with my family during winter time we have never experienced any lack of kitchen utilities nor have our other guests so far. Of course each family has different needs for cooking. Thank you for your hint refering the microwave, I will follow it up. Mike
