Ar y Graig, is a self catering holiday house with panoramic views over the Mawddach estuary and Cadir Idris mountain range in the Snowdonia National Park with sandy beaches just 7 miles away at Barmouth. It is a beautifully positioned, spacious, detached house in an elevated position, in its own gardens, with a sunny aspect and patio area with garden furniture. Great all year!

A holiday for all to enjoy the fresh air, cycle the Mawddach trail, go for mountain and forest walks from the garden gate, rest in the tranquillity of your surroundings ,sit by the open fire with a book or swim in the sea at Barmouth with its fun fair,harbour and quayside restaurants.Stroll over the toll bridge to The George 3rd pub or eat at the Mawddach Restaurant and sample local Welsh dishes. Buses at the end of the lane into Barmouth or Dolgellau. Visit the trail cycle centre at Coed Brennin 7 miles away or climb Snowdon!

Snowdonia National park is renowned for its majestic mountain ranges and beautiful lakes.
This beautiful area has something for all ages: sandy beaches at Barmouth, fishing trips from the harbour , mountain walks from the garden gate, water sports on Lake Bala (35 mins away) off road cycle tracks at Coed Brennin and along the Mawddach trail. We suggest the Kittiwake books of Dolgellau, Barmouth and Mawddach for guided walks. Climb Snowdon or the magnificent Cader Idris visible from the house. Sit on the terrace and watch tide come in and out along the Mawddach estuary. have a BBQ or stroll across the toll bridge to the George Third pub for a meal. We think you will want to come back.

"stunning location, excellent facilities"
the property is brilliant for a large family, there are plenty of bedrooms and ample space for everyone just to relax after exploring the area. the description of the accommodation is correct and there are plently of activities in the area. I would thoroughly recommend this property.

I am very sorry that these difficulties in communication occurred and I did offer a sincere apology to our guest. We did indeed try to contact our guest on the Friday afternoon to ask when it would be convenient for our heating engineer to call and to have access. I was aware there is a back up immersion system for heating the hot water at the house, although this is not on a timer so I would accept not as convenient for our guest to use but it does supply hot water for the house. Fortunately the weather was hot so the heating would not actually have been essential. We really do try to offer a good service to our guests and have done so for many years as it is important they have a good time during their holiday. It was the Bank Holiday and our housekeeper was away from the Friday afternoon onwards and not in mobile reception ( it happens a lot in Wales)but I also give my personal contact numbers out to our guests and they are also listed at the house for such an occasion as there was no response from the housekeeper's phone and indeed I was hoping they would ring me on the Friday so I could talk to them directly and discuss the situation as my attempt to contact them had failed. Unfortunately, I was not in a wifi area over the Bank Holiday weekend so sadly did not pick up an email from our guest until the Monday when I responded straight away with my apologies and I informed them I would contact our plumber and get a visit sorted as the hot water immersion system was not acceptable. If communication had been faster I could have avoided all this and they would not have had to rely on the immersion system which may have been difficult with children. Again, my apologies go to our guest for the inconvenience this may have caused. Throughout the years we have had many happy guests who return regularly and this year again we have received many thank you letters and very positive reviews and so it is a great shame when things do not go entirely well for a guest and their family which I accept can colour the whole experience of the house and holiday for them.
