The North Wales region

North of Wales is best known for the stunning Snowdonia National Park, this region of Wales is the ideal destination for families or couples in search of a walking holiday either in the mountains or by the sea – from the dramatic peaks, lakes and waterfalls of the National Park to the fine sandy beaches of Lligwy in Anglesey.

History lovers can visit the magnificent castles of Caernafon, Criccieth, Conwy and many more, and young and old alike will love a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway.

Also worth a visit is the pretty clifftop village of Portmeirion in Gwynedd, with sea views on Anglesey, and marvel at the breathtaking landscapes that have long drawn tourists to beautiful North Wales.

Anglesey has been recorded as having consistenly more hours of sunshine than anywhere in the UK.

Church Bay

Church Bay is a charming small bay with cafe, pub, the famous Lobster Pot Seafood Restaurant and a stunningly beautiful start to the Anglesey Coastal Path.

The beach is sandy with rocky outcrops, children love for rock pooling and paddling here, or it's perfect for walking,or just relaxing.

Around Church bay is the Anglesey Coastal Path and Gadlys is perfectly placed to explore this being just 4 minutes walk to the beach and the path.

Stunning scenery and National Trust land adjoins the property.

Anglesey has a wealth of charming fishing villages, idyllic small coves and vast stretches of romantic sandy beaches. There are fantastic historical sites such as the castle at Beaumaris ; Llys Rhoshir , home of the former princes of Wales and a fine stately home on the Menai Straits, Plas Newydd, a National Trust property with cafe, gardens, grounds with adventure areas for children and of course the main attraction the stately home.

Fishing trips from nearly Holyhead and Amlwch are provided by charter companies so Church Bay is the perfect spot to visit to take advantage of these exhilarating trips whilst coming back to a cosy log fire.

Close to Gadlys Coastal Cottages is a small Thatched cottage, Swtan which is the last original thatched cottage on Anglesey. It is open to the public during the summer months and on request out of season.

Just a short walk from Gadlys is the famous Lobster Pot restaurant serving locally caught seafood, the Wavecrest cafe with home cooked food (seasonal opening) and the Church Bay Inn.

"Amazing Cottage and Very Enjoyable Holiday"

The standard of this cottage is nothing short of amazing - underfloor heating, granite surfaces in the kitchen and immaculately decorated and furnished throughout. I had never stayed in a cottage finished to this standard ever before.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in May, and it was a perfect place to get away from everything. The weather was fantastic, so we spent a lot of time walking around the beautiful surrounding countryside, and visiting the very clean beach of Church Bay.

We also recommend having a lunch or two at the Wavecrest Cafe/Restaurant, which is on the road towards the beach.

Overall this was a fantastic holiday, and we'll certainly be visiting again.

Many thanks for your review - hope we'll see you again soon.
