“A Stunning, beautiful, luxurious & absolutely breath taking place!” My wife and I recently got married and rented this beautiful house for ourselves and our family to stay in for a special honeymoon/family gathering. When we arrived at the house we were absolutly bowled over by the beauty of the property, its surrounding views and its grounds. In total there were 17 of us, ages ranging from 3 yrs - 68 yrs. There was ample room and facilities to comfortably house & entertain all of us in luxury. The owner Robert was a thorough gentlemen throughout and tended to our every need, making sure everything was just perfect for us.The quality of the furnishings, bedding, memory foam mattresses and general decor was outstanding. We are all already arranging our return!! This is a truly magical place, dont miss out!! (The new Mr & Mrs Eyers & family!)
House is exceptionally well equipped, living cooking eating and playinng all well supported. Daily pool clean kept it clear.
So many outside sitting areas we couldnt use them all. Safe and spacious for children, we had 9 with us. …
The family home
Delightful old house with lovely pool in a peaceful location
You will need a car but local shops, restaurants, etc are all within easy reach. The market in Riberac is extensive and busy - get there early! The house is lovely, well appointed and quite personal as the owner lives there when not rented out. The pool is great and the grounds perfect for a relaxing break away from it all. Everything you could possibly need is provided.
The owner provides a warm Périgord welcome and is available if required throughout your stay. The pool is cleaned regularly and technical help is on hand if required. We had a problem with a shower which unfortunately could not be fixed during our stay but, with 3 bathrooms, it was not an issue.
It is clear on booking that smokers and pets are welcome so there is a smell of cigarettes but this is easily softened with a few scented candles - we spent most of the time outside by the pool so it didn't really affect us.
All in all, a lovely property and location. …
Great location, lovely pool.
Had a very enjoyable week at Ortillac, really good location as quiet but still close to village centre. Property itself is excellent, with a particularly good pool and outside space. Only change I would make would be to turn the dining area downstairs into a combined dining area and sitting room as having the TV on the landing outside one of the bedrooms is not ideal. Overall very happy though and pleased to report that our deposit was repaid very promptly via wire transfer as promised. …
Holiday house near Verteillac with stunning views
Beautiful location and great for children.
We've stayed there twice whilst driving through France in the summer. Characterful house with lots of space, a wonderful garden with a great swimming pool, trampoline, BBQ, outdoor terrace etc. Great place to relax and enjoy the views but also lots of activities in the area. Our kids enjoyed canoeing, fishing nearby & going to the local boulangerie. …
La Maison du Jardin
Lovely cottage, perfect hosts
Beautiful cottage with perfect hosts.
We spent two lovely weeks this summer enjoying the delights of North Dordogne from our perfect base.
The cottages are set privately in the grounds of Carol and David's home and it always felt as if it was our holiday not one being shared with the landlords.
The cottage had its own very private patio area with BBQ to enjoy supper watching the sun go down over the valley. The large garden was perfect for the kids to explore plus an orchard of apples and plums which they loved picking.
The lovely large pool which the kids spending many hours messing about, had both deep and shallow ends.
Situated within a 5 minute drive to an artisan bakery for your daily dread and croissants, 15 minutes to huge supermarket and 5 minutes to drive to Verteillac that handily had a couple of bars restaurants and a weekly producers market selling local food. …
