“We felt just we are in our own home!” We spent 23 days in this beautiful house, the house was completely clean, furnished and almost stoked up. there was an small office space and the basement was equipped with table tennis and other entertainments. we had wonderful Bbqs in balcony and enjoyed exploring the area around with few ponds and parks. Fantastic place! it was just beside bus stop and very close to shopping centers and banks in Royal Oak. would take 10min to LRT. the furniture and Organization of the house was very comfortable and brilliant! the owner provided us with a quidebook which helped us to know the neighborhood very fast.Thanks for the owner who allowed us to use his car, he was a very kind and nice guy we never forget his favors and generosities! We will come back!

“Relaxing!” Group of friends headed out of town for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. Close by to Wildcat Mountain State Park, clean hot tub, and full kitchen for making homemade pizzas and pancakes :) Definitely consider Birch Lake Getaway if you are in need of a winter escape.

“Best vacation ever” I needed a last minute get away and stumbled upon the Cook Camp, which had a week open in august. I travel with 3 German Shepherds that are working dogs and it's not easy finding a place that will allow them, but the owner was gracious enough to accept them. You are provided a house boat have to take to get to the cottage, which is one of the most beautiful 10 minutes I've experienced in my life. The cottage sits back a bit from the water, but still gives amazing views. It so peaceful and relaxing. There is a sandy beach that is perfect for swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Placid. The cottage itself is spotless, large enough to make everyone happy, but also cozy. The screened in porch is perfect for having meal and taking in the outdoors. The cottage has everything you'll need, so buy your groceries beforehand and you won't have to go back to the mainland at all if you don't want to. The landscaping is well maintained and there's a large yard in the front, with the mountain in the back. The Lake Trail runs up behind the cottage about 100 yards and will take you all the way to Whiteface Mountain if you are up for it. You are also supplied with a small fishing boat, sailboat, and canoe, which are great for exploring the shorelines of Lake Placid. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. The kitchen has everything you need for making meals. The bedrooms and baths are well appointed. I plan on making the Cook Camp a yearly vacation because I cannot imagine another place I would rather be.

“Cape cod plus all amenities” My family has been vacationing during the summer on the Cape for many years. We have stayed in several hotels and cottages. What we liked best about Captain alexander's is "The Cape with all the amenities". First of all, it is a short walk to a very nice beach which was very important to us. The accommodations bring privacy and all the amenities we loved to round out our vacation. Even though most of the time on the Cape there is no need of a/C my husband appreciated having the option of turning it on for a comfortable nights sleep. It was also nice to have a private hot tub, deck and grill. The location was centraI to all the highlights and would recommend it highly. The proprietors, Gerry and Ruth, are very friendly and were available if we needed them. Don't miss seeing the seals on Chatham harbor a short distance away.

“Excellent” The house was perfect for our families. Every thing was great. Except the sliding door lock is broken, the glass table is unstable if you have kids and the folding table in the kitchen doesn't have the hinges to be unfolded. I love the house and will return there and refer it to my friends without hesitation.
