Lovely, welcoming property in a beautiful part of France.
Would highly recommend this property - very comfortable and better equipped than our home in England!!. Stayed with family (wife and 3 children aged 11, 13 and 15) and really loved the peace and tranquility of the area, although there is lots to do within a short drive or hiking / cycling from the doorstep. No need to go to the beach as there are so many natural swimming holes locally which are much quieter.
Enough facilities in the village and the locals are all very friendly. …
comfortable village home
Lovely home in beautiful surrounding countryside. Amazing rivers to swim in. Fantastic beaches 50 minute drive away. All amenities on your doorstep. …
This is a little gem! Lovely and peaceful, located in a very small village where a fresh bread van comes daily, absolute tranquility. A car is a must and you need to buy supplies before driving to the gite as there is no shop locally but once done you can just relax in the fabulous surroundings. The accommodation is very well equipped, clean and of very high standard. Lin and John are lovely and very helpful. We had extremely good /hot weather so having the air conditioning was heaven on the odd evening when you just needed a bit of cool air! We visited the beach at Torrielle (about an 1.5hr away) and also visited Les Cascades which were stunning. You won't be disappointed and will want to return again and again. …
Paradise in Tuchan!
I stayed at Le Couvent for a week with friends at the end of July this year and it could not have been better!
The house is very well appointed with ample French charm blended with all the modern conveniences we simply cant seem to live without.
The Furniture and interior decoration has been tastefully chosen to be both comfortable and charming, I loved it!
The pool area is perfect, sunny spots, pool loungers and lovely shady sitting areas for a wine or two - perfect!
The local town is a lazy place with little pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. Nearby we found amazing castles to visit and more amazing restaurants... the cheese OMG. I suggest going to Cucugnan where the is a lovely windmill or Grau de Leucate for oysters by the river or Pyrenees Orientales for a castle with a view to die for or Carcassonne for a walled city/castle that has been semi restored - mind blowing. All close by - so much to do!
I will be back. Thank you Sam our host for everything. See you next time. …
