“Beautiful clean and airy house with great kitchen and sleeping facilities” We spent a week here in January 2013 and although the weather was not the best we still enjoyed ourselves. The house itself was very cozy with a great wood stove and the most ingenious 'under-the-table-heater' that we saw nowhere else during our 75 day stay in Spain. The bed was super comfortable and the upper floor was bright and warm. The kitchen was very well equipped with cutlery, pots & pans and cooking essentials/basics. The welcome pack of bread, fresh eggs, bottled water, butter, jams, juice and a bottle of wine was quite unexpected and much appreciated.
We did not have a car but managed very well thanks to Richard and Lynn who were holding the fort while Fran and Mike were away. They were very welcoming and approachable. Richard picked us up at the Aracena bus station, delivered us back there for our return to Seville, took us into Aracena for tapas and drinks and to meet their friends who agreed to walk one of the trails with us.
We loved all of the four walks we did in the area and also enjoyed the village itself; the small shops; the veggie and fish vendors right outside the front door; the delicious potato chips from the tobacconist; the shop owner who said I could pay her the next day as she was in a hurry to close up; Bar Jesus; and the fresh eggs and oranges from the hens and trees on the property.
We would definitely stay here again, but later in the year when it is warmer and drier.
“Fantastic stay in very comfortable surroundings!” A lovely week in very spacious & comfortable accommodation..., modern & spotlessly clean with all things provided to enhance & make it home from home!
All this in a stunningly well kept complex with a large (& cheap) supermarket nearby & a regular bus service into Nerja itself!
Great communication all along with Rob the owner who provided clear & useful information.
All in all, a fabulous week & we are already planning another visit.....highly recommended!!
“Tranquil, peaceful, relaxing and breathtakingly beautiful...” We were looking for somewhere really peaceful and private. Out of the way to get away from the hectic business of life. Here we found it.
The property overlooks the owner's house which is positioned 100 metres away, just below the vista looking towards the mountains.
We were a little disappointed that it wasn't quite a private as we first thought it might be; but our concerns were dissipated by the discreteness and privacy shown to us by our hosts. It turned out to be really useful having Angela and her husband close by, as it meant any issues were resolved fairly quickly.
Our only complaint was that the loo leaked the day before we left and flooded the bathroom floor and a couple of items in the kitchen were lacking, as were a few handles on furniture, drawers, wardrobes etc. These seemed to be "early season teething problems," so to speak.
The cottage itself is perfect for couples or a small family. Really lovely feel. Stylishly decorated, rustic with hints of the moorish influence. Just a little bit more upmarket than your average Spanish villa.
We loved it!!!
The bedroom has the perfect view across the pool over the mountains. You won't be disappointed booking a week here. The whole place was strewn with carpets of Spring flowers. We had a temperature during the day of 20-23'C throughout the week.
The location is excellent, 40 mins from Malaga and the coast and enough small villages and local attractions to keep you interested for days.
It should be noted that the driveway to the property is very steep, winding and has an uneven gravel surface, so probably not very compatible with low sports cars.
Thanks so much for a wonderful week in Andalucia. We hope to come again...

“Perfect secluded getaway in the nature” This is a gorgeous, very well appointed stone cottage in the grounds of a farm, but totally private from the rest of the farm. It is perfect for a couple who want to get away from it all and spend some time in the nature, looking at the wonderful views and listening to the bird song. Yet the location of the cottage is really accessible to reach the local town of Aracena and all the nearby villages and places to walk. The local area is fantastic for walking, horseriding, bird or nature watching. This is our second time to the region and we would definitely come back again.
“Beautiful area and house, highly recomend the stay in casara” We highly recomend casara, we traveled with a baby and we had all the necesary things for her.
The area is stunning and the houses are super cute
If you want unspoiled views itis a great place,it is also very close to very pretty places
“Clean, peaceful and lovely place to stay” First week we stayed in the studio. Very nice, cosy & clean. But because we wanted to enjoy more of the beautiful views and because we preferred a seperate kitchen we asked if it was possible to move to the cottage with roof terrace. It was very kindly arranged for us and we loved it! The views (of the sunsets) are breathtaking and the cottage was perfect. Very well equipped kitchen, good beds, clean and also lots of info about what to do, where to eat, etc.
The location is great if you like peace and quiet. I would recommend a car if you stay here. We visited beaches, towns and cities in the neighbourhood and had a great time! Thanks!
“Idyllic rural retreat in the Spanish Countryside” If your looking for beautiful views of the Spanish Hills and being surrounded by Olive and Almond trees combined with the perfect hosts in Simon and Amanda then look no further than Manna House. A perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Loved the dogs!
“An oasis of calm. Lovely location. Well equipped, clean accomodation.” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you're after nightlife, crowds and a supermarket on your doorstep, then this isn't the place for you. But if you want peace, relaxation, barbecues by your private pool, and the occasional friendly cat or dog to share it with, then you'll love this cottage. Your friendly but discreet hosts are on hand if you need anything (you probably won't).
You'll need a car, as it's some distance from a main road (part of the attraction) and it can be interesting navigating the roads after heavy rain, but fortunately it rarely rains for long!!
I would certainly recommend it.
