“Non Driver first villa holiday” Our group consisted of my husband, our 19-year-old son and myself. We stayed for 8 nights at the end of May so my apologies for the delay in posting this review.
I have always used the services of a travel agent in the past and this was our first ever self-book/ villa holiday. I admit to being very nervous about the whole process especially as we are non-drivers and I was particularly concerned that transport around the villa would be an issue. Dave and Carol communicated with me throughout the booking process (and whilst we were at the villa) which helped ease my worries and their advance information, hints, tips, recommendations, directions etc. were greatly appreciated.
We left the airport and easily found the taxi rank which was supervised and right outside the main entrance (we ignored drivers touting inside as we were not convinced they use authorised taxis). The journey to the villa took around 30 minutes at a cost of 50 Euros + tip. We did miss the villa in the dark and had to go around the block again but if we had carefully followed the directions given to us we really shouldn’t have missed it. The taxi drivers English was even less than my very limited Spanish so communication wasn’t easy. This was something I found throughout the island (although menus in restaurants were available in English and many other different languages), why I was surprised at the “lack of English” I really don’t know, I was on a Spanish island after all, but I suppose I am used to going to large touristy places where they seem to make a point of employing English speaking staff.
The villa is accurately described on the website and by the many other very satisfied reviewers so there is little point describing it in detail again although I would add my agreement that it is extremely clean and extremely well equipped. I particularly appreciated the washing machine as I managed to wash all our clothes before going home which was a great help as we were returning to have a new kitchen fitted and would be without access to our own machine. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfy as we all slept well. We needed the ceiling fans on during the night but I’m not sure how it would be without air-conditioning at the height of summer. The WIFI worked very well which was very important to my teenage son. Whilst the pool isn’t huge and is overlooked from the villas either side it was clean and I enjoyed having it to myself (pool cleaners came once whilst we were there). There is private off street parking for anyone who needs it.
The villa itself is in a very quiet residential area just 2 minutes’ walk to a well-stocked Dino supermarket where you can get everything you need for a self-catering holiday including delicious fresh bread and pastries. Fortunately, it is open until 10 pm which was great as we arrived just after 9 pm so we had sufficient time to nip out to get supplies in for breakfast. I noticed when searching for a villa that some arrange welcome food packs and whilst there was no formal pack there were various items available tea, coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper etc. This was the one thing I forgot to ask about before going and found we needed to replace disposable items during our stay- kitchen rolls, toilet rolls, bin bags, washing up liquid, disinfectant wipes but soap powder and dishwasher tablets were supplied. I think many of the items (including sun cream, shower gels etc) were left over from previous holiday makers; we left various items ourselves, so I do not know what anyone can expect to find on future visits.
A taxi rank is opposite Dino’s although we rarely saw a taxi there so ended up using the bus to Playa Blanca and getting a taxi back (4 or 5 Euros +tip). The bus stop was only a further 2 minutes’ walk from Dino’s. The buses are every 30 minutes (even on a Sunday) and the fare was a fixed price of 1 Euro 40 whether going 1 stop or the whole route. There are timetable details in the very full information folder provided by the owners. I did phone and book a taxi (number in information folder) for our return journey to the airport and I managed to easily communicate time and date then had to phone again and change it when I realised I had given the wrong date (still living that one down!) the taxi turned up on time so I now realise I should have phoned and booked a taxi instead of using the bus especially considering the bus fares for the 3 of us wasn’t really much cheaper.
The villa is very close to the promenade where a 10/15 minute walk along it will take you to Marina Rubicon. This is a lovely quiet area with lots of restaurants and a small selection of shops and a market twice a week. We ate in several restaurants at the Marina and always had a good meal – they all had entertainment – singers which added to the experience. If you walk for another 10 minutes you will find a lovely little beach, carry on for about another 10 minutes and you will arrive at Playa Blanca itself. Both the Marina and Playa Blanca are very clean and family friendly resort. Playa Blanca is the busier of the two but nowhere near Blackpool level. I have an intermittent problem with my ankle but still managed to walk from Playa Blanca to the villa, I wouldn’t win any awards for speed but it is definitely doable for anyone with reasonable fitness level as it is mainly flat or where needed has ramps for wheelchairs or prams.
We went into Playa Blanca on three nights and ate in different restaurants each time but always ended up in the Irish pub –forget its name. The table service in the pub was fantastic and although it had good entertainment each night (singers) it was a bit repetitive as the same guy was singing the exact same playlist 3 nights later.
We didn’t venture very far from the villa as my husband was poorly when we arrived (man flu) and as the week went on my son got it too. They both shamelessly used this as an excuse to stay as much as possible reading and sunbathing beside the pool or up on the balcony and outvoted me at every turn when I tried to persuade them to go anywhere. This villa is a lovely place to stay, really comfortable and well decorated and bright and airy with lovely views. Close to all necessary amenities and within easy reach of lovely cafes and restaurants. A car definitely isn't needed and if anyone wanted to explore the island further it is easy and not expensive by public transport. On our return journey to the airport, my husband said he had really enjoyed the holiday and would like to come back to the villa again but next time for 2 weeks as 8 nights wasn’t long enough! Praise indeed from the man who doesn’t really like holidays and in almost 30 years of marriage we have never ever returned to the same holiday hotel/ venue. I did try and book for later this year but the dates I wanted were booked so it will have to be next year.
The review form asks "Would you recommend the holiday rental to a friend?"
What a dilemma. If I answer truthfully and recommend Casa Strutt I am seriously reducing my chances of getting booked again!!? So I will answer yes but only if they take me with them!
“Lovely Villa - book it!” Stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it!
The owner was really helpful from the outset, offering plenty of advice and we loved all the recommendations for local cuisine, especially Sebastyans!
The villa was ideal for us - clean and spacious with everything and more needed to make it feel a real home from home.
Would happily recommend this villa - and the pool too!
“"The most perfect holiday ever"” We have just come back from a 3 week holiday staying at Casa Innismore, It was absolutely perfect in everyway. The location is fab with bars in easy walking distance and the beautiful promenade is just minutes away. There is a Spar just over the road which is great for stocking up on the essentials. The villa is modern, spacious and so very homely. The private pool is fab too and it is cleaned twice a week. The only problem there was, was having to leave and come home. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be returning.
“Excellent Bungalow” Have just returned from a glorious 10 days here. Complex is peaceful and relaxing with all that Playa Blanca has to offer on your doorstep. Bungalow well equipped to a high standard and pool area is quiet without any need to stake a claim for a sunbed! Beautiful evening strolls along the promenade to the Marina or an abundance of good quality restaurants and bars within a minutes walk. Beaches minutes away and would recommend ferry to Furteventura for a day trip. anyone booking this apartment will not be disappointed and am already looking to book my return trip next year.
“Wow - there are no words.” Nothing I could write here would sum up how incredible our stay was at Villa Grace - This wasn’t our first villa stay on Lanzarote, it won’t be our last time to the island or to Villa Grace!
I’ll start with Kerry (the wonderful lady who owns the villa). She’s incredibly warm, helpful & knowledgeable.
The villa itself is huge, spacious, modern and luxury. We stayed for 8 nights and had absolutely everything we needed for a family holiday.
The pool and hot tub are great - the pool is heated to a lovely warm temperature. There’s so much outside space and even games and toys for the kids!
Talking of kids, they were thrilled to have good WiFi, an Xbox and so many dvds so watch!
Location is great, only a 3-4 minute walk to a few restaurants, bars, shops and the bus stop which links you to town and the marina.
Thank you Kerry, you’re amazing!
“Perfection on the doorstep...” The villa was immaculate, everything we could have wished for. It is the perfect location to the beach front and extremely close to all amenities along with great views within gorgeous landscaped gardens. The freshness and cleanliness as we walked in to the villa was rewarding as was the friendliness of the staff on reception and the garden maintenance & cleaning teams. The whole villa was comfortable with everything having been thought about and with the ease of working the appliances. Home from home!
The communal pool was very close to the property and maintained to perfection.
There is a Spar supermarket within a couple of minutes walk to the villa however a small shop is located on the complex premises for necessities such as water...
Restaurants are within a five minute walk to the promenade.
For us, this was the perfect villa and place to stay. We will definitely be coming back!
“Fantastic Location” My husband & I booked a last minute holiday. The apartment was lovely, yes some parts of it need up dating like previous reviewers have said but it was more than adequate for the 2 of us. Communication with Elizabeth was excellent. We have dealt with many Property Managers all over the world and would say Elizabeth is probably one of the best at replying to any queries immediately. The location of the apartment is literally a few minutes walk to the beach. There is a lovely costal path which runs for miles with many bars to take a rest at. We hired a car to explore the island which was well with it. All in all we had a wonderful week, the weather was beautiful. Thank you Elizabeth.
“Lovely villa with the most perfect sea view!” This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this villa. Last year we stayed 2 weeks in September just my husband & myself for 1 week & were joined by friends for the 2nd week. We hired a car both times for the transfer from the airport but found it very easy to walk down to the sea ( about 20 mins) and then walk left into Playa Blanca port or right to more restaurants and along to the lighthouse( both lovely walks) There is also a taxi rank 10 mins walk along the road. There are plenty of hotels on the front for happy hour or evening entertainment.
The villa is very comfortable with a good kitchen & plenty of space inside. It has a lovely swimming pool with sun bathing terrace & plenty of sunbeds. The terrace is very private, peaceful & sheltered and gets the sun all day. There are 2 lovely areas for lazy lunches or evening meals when you don't want to eat out. We cooked fresh fish which you can buy from Las Colarados S/mkt if you have a car or the big s/mkt in Playa Blanca if not ( sorry can't remember its name)
The view is really the most spectacular, it stretches from the cliffs at Papagayo to the lighthouse & it's fantastic getting up in the morning & looking across to Fuertaventura or watching the sun go down behind Montana Roja.
Wish we were going back tomorrow and will definitely book again.
“Beautiful views and peaceful” For me this was a welcome return to Villa Dos.
Most mornings, breakfast was enjoyed on the patio taking in the magnificent views to Fuertaventura and the Lanzarote coast from the lighthouse to Papagayo beaches.
While I had a car, arranged by Christine, I had occasion to use the taxis which are plentiful and cheap, even tried the bus and can confirm it is only 5 minutes down the hill.
The villa was left spotless and smelling fresh after its weekly clean by Yvonne and her team.
At night everything is quiet and peaceful although a couple of mornings the noise of the workmen adding the new footpath and street lighting got me up a little earlier than planned.
The whole booking process was faultless. (Christine responded within 10 minutes to my original inquiry.)
This will always be my first choice for any future visits to Lanzarote.
“Villa Rosa” Perfect apartment for our family of four. It had everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Clean and equipped with modern facilities. The location is ideal close to the promenade where it is a pleasant 10mins walk to the beautiful marina. The main beach is another 15mins approximately but an enjoyable walk. We loved it!!
“Another Year, Another Memorable Visit” Just got back from another wonderful stay at the 3 Palms Villa.
Everything you could ever need. We are now firm favourites of this villa and Playa Blanca.
Easily arranged with Bev and the villa is maintained perfectly by Jo.
Booking again for next year to make it 3 years in a row visiting this perfect getaway.
Just a shame we can't rate it higher than excellent.
“Great holiday in well maintained villa” We were impressed by the villa- it was the 3rd we have stayed in at the Las Brisas complex and by far the best. It has benefitted from an upgrade- the kitchen, living areas and bathrooms are finished well, the bedrooms have ample storage space and the terrace is large, sunny and in a quiet area, but still very close to the pool etc.
Only negative is the double bed could have been better, but overall very pleased and we have re-booked.
We choose Las Brisas over its expensive alternatives like Yaiza because the pool is large and always warm, it is perfect for kids, and there is always a lifeguard. Location is fantastic too, 5 minutes to restaurants and a beach, and with a shop, good bar and play area on site what more could you need?
“Aqua marina numero 7” Amazing villa. First time staying in one and definitely not the last. Prime location. Close to shops, bars, restaurants and of course el playa. Perfect for couples, groups or anyone that wants a chill. Best part for me was the pool and a beach bar about 15 mins walk along the coastal path from the villa. Definitely recommended and would love to return sometime. Thanks for your hospitality and all your reccomendations!
This beach town on the southern tip of Lanzarote is well known for being a little quieter than many resorts on this island. That doesn't mean it's short on things to do though - there's more than enough to keep everyone happy! Book you holiday rental in Playa Blanca.
About Playa Blanca
With plenty of activities on offer, and some unusual and exciting opportunities, there's definitely something to please just about everyone here.
What to Do
A dolphin and whale watching tour gives you a great chance to see some incredible sea creatures.
Top Playa Blanca Travel Tips
Ferries across to Fuerteventura are very regular and only take about half an hour for a great day out.
For an exciting but chilled out family getaway at the beach, be sure to book your next holiday rental in Playa Blanca.

Villa San Marcial is a Wonderful Holiday Villa with Private Pool.
A fabulous villa in Playa Blanca
We returned from our two week stay yesterday having had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. As a family of four, with two teenage sons, the villa met all of our requirements and more. The residential area is quiet and welcoming, set in a location on the East side of the resort. The walk from the villa to the marina takes 10/15 minutes at a leisurely pace. We found that taxis were readily available at a cost of just €4 into the town throughout the day and night. Alternatively, you can walk along the promenade in approximately 30/40 minutes. There are two good supermarkets, the Hyper Dino and one that sells English produce - great for fresh milk as our boys prefer this to the usual Spanish long life variety which are both within a minutes walk from the villa. The facilities at the villa were perfect for us with the addition of having cold filtered water on tap and WiFi available should you want to make use of it. The pool is in the sun most of the day with the patio offering shade when required. We made good use of the BBQ provided on numerous occasions during our stay after long days at the beach. The cleanliness of the villa was superb and we found that everything you could need was provided. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were spacious with ample wardrobe space. As we were there for a two week stay, our towels and bedding was changed mid holiday, and the pool was also cleaned. The hosts are very helpful and responsive should you need to contact them and the complimentary wine, beers and fruit on arrival was a lovely touch. We will certainly return in the future and recommend to family and friends. …
Las Brisas Bungalow number 104 in a prime location
What a gem of a villa!
This villa is so good I almost didn’t want to write a review and tell people about it!! We have stayed in various types of accommodation in PB over the years we have been visiting but we honestly felt like this was the best yet because it scores on all fronts. The villa is really lovely. It is immaculately decorated and has all the mod cons including a great little kitchen fully equiped with the necessary items should you wish to have a chilled night in. The garden is private and a perfect little space for a relaxing glass of wine or two. The development of Las Brisas is fab complete with a huge heated pool and a really nice bar and restaurant with a great quiz night on a Monday. The location of the villla is a huge plus point because it is probably the most central location we have ever stayed at. It meant we did not need a hire car and we could walk everywhere, into town, to the marina, the local beaches are all accessible. We were a short walk from the bus station so could even get a bus if we fancied a trip a bit further afield. All in all we had a great holiday in a lovely villa in the best location. We will definitely be booking again for next year. …
Las Brisas V11
Wonderful villa & resort
Beautifully presented villa, clean & nicely modernised whilst keeping the Las Brisas feel we love so much! Large outside table was particularly good for our family dinners!! …
Luxury 4 bed detached villa with private pool.
Excellent villa in a popular location
Very enjoyable stay at this villa for two weeks. Villa is roomy with plenty of outdoor place especially if you have children staying. Plenty of sunbeds and the pool is the warmest I have ever experienced out of all the villas I have stayed in. It was absolutely perfect for young children who stayed in the pool for hours. The villa is only a short distance from Playa Blanca town centre and within walking distance of the Aqualava water park where we spent a fun filled day with all the family. Although we were slightly nervous with the 'pay as you use' air conditioning we found that the cost was very reasonable and made perfect sense as we made sure that we used it sensibly. All in all a lovely stay and we would book again if we visit Lanzarote in the future. …
Private Villa with stunning Mountain views
in one word- FANTASTIC-
Villa was exactly as shown, everything catered for, kitchen really well equipped. could not fault anything.... a bit of a stroll to town, walked down got taxi back, plenty of places to eat and drink. locked ourselves out on the Sunday night rang Jason from the management team and he arrived within 10 minutes and let us in. will definitely be returning. thanks for a great holiday …
Fantastic villa for a family holiday.
We spent 2 amazing weeks in Casa Strutt. A wonderful comfortable villa, with enough space for our family. A great base for exploring the island, close to the marina and the local beach. Walking distance to a supermarket and we loved the overseas shop just down the road (all those classic British home comforts). We cooked several times on our stay and had a few meals out in Playa Blanca. The kitchen was well equipped and had pretty much everything you’d need if you wanted to eat in for the duration of your holiday. We had a car for the whole time we stayed, we travelled the whole island (longest trip up to Miracor del Rio around 80 mins).
The pool was amazing, perfect size for the 4 of us. Cleaned twice while we were there. Lots of inflatables for use, so no need to take your own. I’d recommend the flamingo for lounging in the pool!! Sun all day and the loungers are perfectly placed to top up your tan.
Great views from both the front and back balconies, a lovely quiet location.
We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to our family and friends.
Many thanks for the use of your amazing home. …
