V Comfortable gite with. Very welcoming hosts to greet us in this idyllic part of France
We enjoyed our stay in this relatively undiscovered and unspoilt part of France off the tourist track. Bastille towns and mediaeval villages to explore all with magnificent churches. Visited local markets most days with fantastic local produce not to mention the Bordeaux wines and little restaurants providing regiona, food at unbelievable value. To top it all our hosts are prepared to serve a magnificent bar be que or first class dinner on the shady terrace at the end of the day. We thorough recommend it for a relaxing laid back holiday. …
A haven for 2 at any time of year!
Studio Verger in Sos, Lot et Garonne is an ideal holiday rental for 2 ( not always easy to find) which we liked very much indeed - we have in fact, one year ago, stayed in the larger Gite de Verger, and liked the area so much we returned - this time staying in the Studio which, like the Gite, is luxuriously appointed with everything you could possible require for self-catering. There is a superb shower (not always the case in holiday rentals) and is tastefully furnished. We were once again warmly welcomed by our hosts,Louise and Gunton, and, with a log fire burning in the little woodburner in addition to electric heaters, it was cosy as pie(in fact had to let woodburner go out and turn heaters off due to the superb blue skies and sunshine which we had.) The studio has its own outside space in the beautiful garden, complete with sun loungers and barbecue, also a little table and chairs for breakfast just outside the front door. There is a local shop with fresh bread every day for the breakfast baguette and croissants and indeed anything else you could wish for. Within a short drive there are many interesting and picturesque villages/towns to visit, many with markets, so fresh produce for lunch and dinner is easy to find-we visited a local asparagus grower ( given a reference by Louise) where we got the best asparagus I have ever tasted. There are lots of good restaurants within a short drive, serving great food, with 3 course lunch at 13 euro/£10 per person -superb value. The area is definitely worth a visit - not as "touristy" as many other parts of SW France but plenty to see and do if you wish or just relax on a sun lounger in the garden with a glass of the local wine, and a good book! Do visit - at any time of year! …
