We stayed in the Le Lot apartment for two weeks in August and I have to say we have nothing but praise for it and the owners.
We arrived on Saturday evening and were given the guided tour, given our (very) welcome pack and left to settle in. We felt welcome and comfortable straight away, and in all our dealings with owners Andrew and Tony, nothing was too much trouble.
As it was such a hot day (41 degC!), we got straight in the pool, which was glorious. Even on the few cooler days the pool was comfortable as it was heated.
The appartment had everything we needed, dishwasher, washing machine, big fridge freezer, our own BBQ and terrace area. We were also pleasantly surprised to discover that we had British freesat television, giving us all the freeview channels for a real home from home (not that tv was the be all and end all, but it was great to have it available). Accomodation wise there are two good sized bedroom,s a lounge/kitchen/diner, bathroom and separate loo. All felt light and airy and is well laid out. Certainly enough room for us and our little boy.
Outside, the fruit and vegetables growing and free for us to take were a fantastic touch, which we made frequent use of. There were tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, squash, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants, apples and pears (plus a load more I'm sure we missed).
The local town of Villeneuve sue lot is a short drive away for dining out and shopping, and the nearest hypermarket (auchan) is about 5 mins by car. I would say at this point that in my opinion a car is essential.
Overall we had a superb time, truly relaxing. We have already started thinking about our return visit next year. …
Fantastic holiday in beautiful surroundings
Gite was well equipped and had everything we needed for a month's stay. A friendly welcome and amazing birdsong added to the atmosphere. It wasn't warm enough in April to use the pool, but we could see that it was well looked after. The situation is ideal for leisure cyclists, about half a mile from the superb 'voie verte' which links Casseneuil to Villeneuve-sur-Lot on a traffic-free path. The 'veloroute' on either side on quiet, flat country roads gives you as much cycling as you could want. There are also some stunning walks through the fields and orchards and along quiet lanes. The perfect holiday - hope to be back. …
A fantatic holiday with lots to offer. There was always something for everyday...... to relax we enjoyed days in the sunshine around the pool, fishing or just relaxing with our wine! But when we fancied something a little more energetic we spent our days, horse riding, kayaking, canooing or just taking a motor boat along the Lot. Villeneurve Sur Lot offered some good restraurants and the picturereque village of Pujols offered some beautiful scenery and medieval buildings, Morning markets and wonderful hospitality from Andrew and his father, for whom nothing was too much trouble, completed this great holiday. We would certainly go again! …
