My partner and I stayed in this studio apartment for five nights in mid November 2013. The apartment is accurately depicted in the photos. Basically there is one single room partially split in two. On the entrance side is a nice kitchen space; the other side of the room has the beds. The bathroom is on the side. Although not central (i.e. tourist central) the apartment is very well located, being within walking distance of the train station or a very short taxi ride. In terms of being near the Duomo and centre of town the apartment is about a 15 to 20 minute walk. This was perfectly fine by us as we like to walk. You could probably catch transport if you wanted to but we never felt the need to do so. The furtherest we ever walked was about 30 mins from the apartment to the other side of the river (the Pizzi Gallery). The apartment itself has an excellent kitchen- the oven works well, there are very good pots and pans for making even an elaborate dinner, and a stove top coffee maker is provided (though no kettle!). There is a nice little table to eat on and about four chairs. The washing machine is easy to use and there is a good drying rack provided. The heater by the window does a good job of drying. Around the beds there is a lot of room to store luggage and coats. The bed (two pushed next to each other for a couple) was moderately comfortable. I would habe preferred another pillow I guess. Depsite that, the bedding is good enough to sleep on for the night, much better than the budget hotel we stayed at in Napoli and are currently enduring in Venice. The bathroom is a bit narrow but you can work around it. there is excellent heat and water pressure in the shower. The internet works although the signal is not always that strong and it is a little slow. Still it is functional for people who want to read things and send emails etc. Finally, Francesco is a very good host. He met us with a lady who explained everything very well to us and always responded quickly to my emails. We did not need to ask for much once we were there because it was all very easy to use and worked well. This is a good apartment to stay in Florence especially if you are on a long trip and want some self sufficiency with cleaning clothes and cooking dinner. …
Residence Contessa Angela
unique, spacious apartment in a very central location.. loved it
I travelled with 2 friends, we wanted a bedroom each, which the apartment could accommodate. There is masses of space, so if you are away for a week or so you can escape each other quite easily. The apartment is at the back of the building away from the main road so it was quiet at night. It had pretty much everything we needed and more . It is quite uniquely furnished which certainly gave it the wow factor. I've rented apartments in a number of cities for holidays, and this one I will certainly remember above the others.
The owners Peter and Julie lived upstairs, they met us and showed us around and were really helpful if we had any questions. We had a great week all-round. …
