Description

Zermatt is a car-free village at the foot of the famous and magnificent Matterhorn mountain. It can be reached in around 3 1/2 hours by train from Geneva or Zurich airports where the train station is at the airport. If you are driving your car must be left in a parking in Tasch, 9 kms below Zermatt and you then take the shuttle train to the centre of Zermatt village. Alternatively, you can leave your car in one of the small garages on the lefthand side as you enter Tasch and take their taxi (only they and residents have road access as far as the entrance to the village).Haus Imperial is located less than 5 minutes on foot from the main train station, the Bahnhofstrasse which is the heart of the village, and the departure stations for Gornergrat and Sunnegga. You can also reach the MatterhornExpress departure station by taking a bus at the bottom of the street or at the train station. Three supermarkets are also within walking distance, as well as numerous smaller specialty stores

It offers a large south facing balcony from where you have an uninterrupted view to the Matterhorn. The studio comprises a kitchen area equipped with everything you could possibly need: fridge, dishwasher, expresso coffee machine, fondu and raclette machines, microwave. There is a dining area, a living area, a double bed (160cms), a shower/WC, and there is a heated ski room in the entrance hall of the building.

You can spend the day over in Italy on the other side of the Matterhorn by taking the MatterhornExpress lift to Trockener Steg and then the telepherique to Klein Matterhorn. From there you can ski down into Cervinia and Val Tournenche, and then return on the Italian lifts and ski back to Zermatt (after lunch in Italy of course). Just beware of the times for the last lift to get back to Zermatt and also if the wind gets up it's best to head for home...quickly.

Haus Imperial, Unterer Mattenweg 22, 3920 Zermatt Check-in is at 1500h and check-out at 0900h. Because of the logistics of arriving in Zermatt, it is not always possible to arrive and depart exactly at the desired hour. It helps my planning for cleaning and for accommodating late/early arrivals and departures of guests, if you can let me know your estimated arrival and departure times. After the booking process, I prefer to be in direct contact with you, as opposed to going through the website. Therefore either text messages, email, WhatsApp, or just simply telephone are easiest and quickest. Just let me know if you need any help with travel arrangements.
