From the owner

You'll love cottage farm, it's full of charm and character. The cottage is 16th century grade ll listed, retaining many of its original features including an original wood burning stove. It makes the most delicious pizzas and we provide all the dough ingredients for you to give it a go.

Wattisham is set in the heart of rural Suffolk, and our cottage is the perfect getaway for families, couples and friends. Relax in the secluded garden, take a stroll across the open fields and visit charming medieval villages close by.

You have independent access to the whole house and gardens which comprises of:

-cloak room with toilet and wash basin

First floor

-family bathroom with shower

-bedroom 1 den style bed with a king bed mattress which leads through to

-bedroom 2 with a super king bed

I will be on hand to help with any problems and im happy to advise about places to visit if you wish (this information is also in a folder in the cottage with brochures and recommendations).

Wattisham is a farming village surrounded by fields and open country side. Sometimes we have more horses passing than cars. Just of your door step you will find beautiful country walks into Bildedton where there is a village shop, pubs and restaurants.

In the local surrounding area you will find farm shops/farm cafes, tea rooms, fishing lakes, horse riding and much more. Only 15 minutes drive to historic Lavenham with outstanding Medieval Architecture, art galleries, boutiques and restaurants . Further afield you can visit many of Suffolks beautiful beaches, nature reserves and forests. There are lots of brochures in the cottage with places to visit. There are large supermarkets in both Hadleigh and Stowmarket.

We are rural so ideally you will need a vehicle,

main roads are with in easy reach.

The nearest train station is Stowmarket where there is a taxi service at the station approximately 7miles from the cottage

We provide your first batch of logs free of charge then any additional logs will need to be purchased. You can either bring your own with you (most supermarkets sells bags of logs) or the local shop in Bildeston sells bags.

The ceilings are in general high for this period of house but there are some low areas, mainly through door ways. My husband is 6ft and finds the Cottage quite comfortable.

There is off road parking for 2 vehicles.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Samantha (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
