From the owner

Private and fully enclosed villa situated within the El Torcal National Park in Andalusia.The rustic style property is located in the quiet hamlet of La Higuera, which has two shops, a home made cheese shop, a bar (refurbished for 2020) and a large play park, which is opposite. Has lots of facilities and floodlit.

The villa has a large eight by four metre ELECTRICALLY heated pool, which is securely enclosed with a lockable wooden fence.


We have a new apartment upstairs, self contained with two bedrooms , a double with a double and a single bed, a lounge are with a double sofa bed, another bedroom which has three single beds. Also with a shower (walk in style) room,with basin and toilet. The small lounge are has a refrigerator and coffee / tea making facilities. It also has its own private outside spaces. This is additional to the villa and cannot be rented separately. To add the apartment, put 9 people for your booking, this will then only add the base price, if you add more people the price will increase, I can not alter that, there is only one price for the apartment, which is (£) 252 per week.

The main villa has three bedrooms, the master has a king size bed. There is a twin room with en suite and a further twin room. In the lounge, there are two double sofa beds, one further bed can be added. We have two cots.

The property is fully equipped and is child friendly,we have two buggies, high chairs, cots and door gate for use if needed.

Within the grounds is in an old olive grove and has patio and terraces on different levels, some shaded, and the gardens have various fruit trees and lots of flowers and herbs (bay, parsley, mint, oregano, basil and thyme).

There is also a veg garden, all of what is growing is for your use whilst you are there,including the fruit (lemons, oranges,apples grapes, nectarines,pears, almonds, plums, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, peppers broad beans, etc) At the very back of the garden is a Chicken run, you can have fresh eggs when available.

Also outside is a gas stove and barbecue.

In the winter there is a log fire, logs are available from the local shop.

There is a lot of marked walks directly from the villa, with plaques informing you of the various wildlife and history of the area, El Torcal visitor centre is a must, and it also has mapped walks of varying lengths.

Within a few minutes walk there is a large, safe, play area. It has Tennis, table tennis, basket ball, football and swings/slides and a new outdoor gym.

The village of La Hoja is 2km away, the fresh bread and cake delivery to the villa can be arranged from there, it also has numerous bars, and the hotel Fuente del Sol (Beauty treatments, massages and Yoga. It also has horse riding facilities, bar and restaurant. Chemist, bank and a few small shops.

Villanueva de la Concepcion is 6km away and has supermarkerts,various shops,tapas bars, restaurants and banks

Twenty minutes drive away is Lobo Park, a wolf and wildlife centre.

Andalusia`s ancient capital, Antequera, is 20km away, a wealth of History, Castles, museums and, of course, shops, bars and restaurants.

The music system(CD, radio) is switchable for indoor or outdoor (or both) use, connect via Bluetooth or USB. The is Spanish TV also an Amazon fire stick, so you can log in to this or Netflix, you will need a VPN for live uk TV. We have a roof mounted electric boiler with 200ltr capacity and a 1000ltr cold water reserve, so plenty of water pressure which is usually a problem in rural Spain.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Martyn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
